Did you notice the eerie sounds in the background during Anakins nightmare
and just after Shmi dies and
    before the slaughter?
It wasn´t really music but seriously haunting and disturbingly
    foreshadowing sounds!

I know it's not really Episode II related, but I done this just now, and I'd like everyone to see it. I don't consider it finished quite yet because there is still one image I need badly, but anyway, here is my non-finished

    EPISODE III TEASER POSTER

    1. The waterfall scene
    2. Anakin asking a Jawa for directions against the backdrop of two sandcrawlers and sunset, and music
    3. Anakin and Padme pulling away from their kiss as they are taken out to the arena - again, the music included
    4. Padme kissing Anakin on the cheek after she lands next to him on the reek
    5. The army of battledroids and Geonosians closing in on the circle of Jedi, in the arena
    6. Dooku, in the hanger, boasting of his powers to Obi-Wan, and the unique way he holds his saber away from himself.
    7. Dooku arriving in run-down part of Coruscant to meet Sidious
    8. The wedding

another one of my favorite images from the movie occurs during Palaptine's "grand army of the republic speech," as Yoda and Mace are overlooking the senate. They just look so small, insignificant, and helpless compared to the overwhelming size of the cavernous senate chamber - which i think is a great metaphor for the diminishing role of the jedi in the republic. The machine is rolling on and reducing them to little more than bystander footnotes in the goings on of the galaxy.

I love Anakin talking to the Jawa- he is again shot in profile and you can see his ponytail. It again forshadows his turning into Vader.

The highest compliment I can pay this film is that you can take virtually any scene and use it as a cool desktop picture :)
Hard to pick a fave, but I really love the shot of the Jedi in the "circle of death"

That's not a very nice thing to say about the film.

This movie and the PT in general are all about images for me - images of a breathtakingly gorgeous galaxy that no one would want to be destroyed . . .

    (1) Anakin/Dooku battle - my favorite imagery in any movie ever. The colors flashing on their faces blending the good light with the evil light, flanked by moves and stances that look like waltzes, give this regal and noble weapon the respect it has always deserved. I've been waiting for something like this for 25 years.

    (2) The Corsucant Chase - I love big cities : Chicago, New York, Seattle, Rome, Venice. I've seen them all, and Coruscant is what I dream at least one of them will look like in 40 years.

    (3) Naboo waterfall, balcony, dining room, fireplace - all mindblowing. When Anakin is standing in front of the sunset. . . I saw this in a trailer and it has never left my mind since.

    (4) The rainbow backless dress - I can't get over this. When Anakin, Padme's knight, helps her out of the gandola like a gentleman, and she turns around to reveal that her dress is backless, I see a woman who can be fiercely intelligent and independent while still holding on to her grace, poise, elegance, intense beauty and respect for some traditional chivalry - this is my absolute dream presented on screen. I didn't even hear the part about what she used to do at that lake until the third time I saw it - I was too busy gasping.

How can one movie be so gorgeous?!

Merton9999 LOL! Well guess you and Anakin have something in common. I guess you can understand why he seemed rather "preoccupied" in that scene and completely drunk with love.

I love that scene as well. I saw the Love Trailer only once and that scene was the only one that stuck in my head. The scenery was just breathtaking.

I love how Lama Su's chamber seems to be fashioned out of pure light.
Obi-Wan looks terribly out of place in this scene... it's like having a chimpanzee next to Kate Blanchett's Galadriel, in the Palace of Versailles.

Shortly before AOTC, I got to go to Italy and spend a day in Lake Como. Beautiful place, and the villa where they filmed the Naboo retreat scenes is a place called Villa del Balbianello. I couldn't get in, because it's closed to the public on Sunday and Monday (my one chance to go...flight home Tues morning) But my girlfriend and I are determined to go back sometime soon.

So when we saw AOTC, opening day, it shared a very special memory for me; because I was there (sort of)

    Krash:

I went to Italy shortly after AOTC came out. Though I only drove by Lake Como, I did stay a night in a hotel on Lake Maggiore in the same Northern Lake region.

It was so special to be at the place where one of my favorite scenes in the movie was filmed. Even though I wasn't at Lake Como exactly, I could really see how the artists brought out the tranquility of a place I thought was so serene and beautiful. Even with the hotels around, it seemed like I could walk around anywhere and enjoy the beauty of it alone without any interruptions. When I looked out my window, I could see the morning light blazing off the lake just like it did in the movie. I could see why Lucas chose this for his Paradise setting.

My favorite images have to do with the way GL shot the Love Story. When we first see Anakin and Padme arrive on Naboo it is clearly morning. They take care of business at the Palace and then head off to the Lake Retreat. Here they share their first impromtu kiss under a shaded tree. Lunchtime takes place in the meadow with the rolling waterfalls behind. Then we see them playing in the fields in the afternoon. After that is the evening dinner "forbidden fruit" scene. And finally the love confession/rejection at night with the fire blazing the backround.. Although I would have loved to see more of the material from the book in the movie, this setup plays much better thematically in the overall context of the movie. Can't wait for the DVD!
