So whats your favorite theme?

Of all the themes in the movies, which is your favorite?

I like the Main Theme and the Imperial March.

 

Force Theme for me.

It's a tie between Shmi's Theme and The Force Theme.

 

Princess Leia's and the Main Theme.

I'm in a minority here, but DOTF just doesn't work for me (musically/emotionally).

 

Well, that happens trippitaka. I'm big on the main theme, the imperial march and DotF, though.

 

Actually DOTF is nowhere near one of my favorites, so you're not alone. Of course, I still like it because I like anything JW composes.

I'm partial to the main theme and the Force theme myself, but I also love the Imperial March, Han Solo and the Princess, Yoda's theme, and the droid's theme. And Anakin's theme, and Qui-Gon's theme, and Jar Jar's theme. And Luke and Leia's theme.

 

The Force Theme. Especially as it matured in the rest of the series.

 

Favorite? I dunno. But I do like Qui-Gon's theme a lot.

My favorite of the week is the Force theme.

 

Oo, oo! Cloud City, I love Cloud City's music! It makes me feel like marching triumphantly around -- until the end part, when 3PO's head gets blown off....

 

I love Yoda's theme, Jabba's Theme, and Luke and Leia. Can you tell that the only soundtrack I own is ROTJ? Scratch that, I have TPM too, but for some reason that music just doesn't appeal to me as much as the Classic Trilogy's does.

 

I think it's because we've grown up with the OT music. It's part of our psyche, our childhood, our youth.

 

Too many to list - I'm big on the minor themes, like "Hyperspace", the Rancor's theme, the Boba Fett/Cloud City theme.

 

Yoda's theam.
So peaceful and typical of the small Jedi master.
Both determined, yet long and passive at the same time.

 

TPM's soundtrack hasn't yet ingrained itself in my psyche like the OT's themes did. However, DoTF and Anakin Theme can be addictive to listen to.


Overall my fave is the Force theme and just about all of its variations.



PS: Someone mentioned Shmi's theme....where can I find it, i'm curious.

 

I prefer the Imperial March or Duel of the Fates.

I dunno.. I like em all! I like the flag parade... panaka's theme, imp march, droid theme, luke and leia, han solo and the princess, leia's theme, jar jar's theme, DoTF, yoda's theme, main theme, flag parade, Emperor's Theme..

Oh forget it, I'm just going to end up naming all of the themes!

Cloudwalker, I love that piece. They have it in one of the Tone Poem commercials too.

My favourite is probably the Force theme.

 

Did anyone else reconize the total lack of memorable heroic themes on TPM soundtrack.

I like the Force theme and feel that it should have been used throughout TPM, not to mention "Darth Vader's theme" (Ep IV soundtrack) which could have been used in a subdued way to foreshadow Anakin's eventual fall.

Back to my point, there are no themes on the PM recording that I can IMMEDIATELY associate with any character, therefore it lacks the emotional appeal of the earlier films' soundtracks. The only bit of music that sticks in my head is DotF, it was used
for EVERYTHING, from the pod race to the lightsaber fight, backwards and forwards. But it still doesn't make me think of any one particular character.

One final thought - Lukes theme could have been used too in order to tie the Skywalker family together. It would be effective even if done by a solo instrument or kept subdued.
