Here is the link to home town tourist section. Its nice place run by stupid people. Pretty in the fall. Leaves change color so people who don't see trees come here and tie up traffic. but besides that not too bad of a place.

At-At forgot to mention the noisy people that try and play music almost every friday night during the summer. They play at a gazebo in the middle of town.

I'm from Rochester, NY and used to be part of the local Fanforce, but I'm more of a member of the Buffalo Fanforce (not really technically, but still :p ) now since my boyfriend is a member and I get to go to a lot of FF stuff with him. ;)

Note that I think Rochester is a little too far south on the map I posted, but it's really close... my house is 5-10 minutes away from the lake. :p

I'm from Regensburg, Germany (capital of Upper-Palatinate district in the State of Bavaria).

Regensburg (formerly known in english as "Ratisbon") was founded as a Roman city in the year 178 AD by Emperor Commodus (the evil guy from "Gladiator" ...) at the River Danube's northern-most point, housing the 3rd Italian Legion close to the border to Germania (in fact exactly at the border, so my home town is almost 2000 years old.

One building from 178 remains till today - the Roman City's North Gate - the Porta Praetoria.
It's one of our 3 city symbols (the others are the Old Stone Bridge from the 12th, and the gothic St. Peter's Cathedral from the 13th century).

We have the largest medieval city center not altered or destroyed till today in Germany, and with more than 6000 buildings and sites protected as "monuments" or "historic sites" a world record-worthy amount.

Of course now there are some newer buildings too ... ;)

In WW2 1 in 3 Messerschmidt fighter planes were built in Regensburg, as were many small 2-man-submarines, today - besides of being one of Germany's leading centers of bio-technology (private sector & universities) - there's Toshiba's main European notebook factory, Siemens VDO's world center, other big factories of Siemens, Infineon, BMW ...

Right now there are slightly more than 150,000 people living (officially) in Regensburg.

    Our partner/twin cities are Aberdeen(Scotland), Odessa(Ukraine), Tempe/Arizona(USA), Pilsen(Czech Rep.), Brixen (South-Tyrol/Italy), Clermont-Ferrand(France) and Budavar (Hungary).

    (wikipedia, US)
(wikipedia, Germany - much more info & pictures!)
    (city website, includ. english pages)

Like Mara-Jade-Skywalker I'm also from Rochester, NY and am currently its Chapter Representative.

I'm probably about a 15 minute drive from Lake Ontario. In my youth/pre-car days I would ride my bicycle from my house to the beach. Can't do that anymore... :p

Where am I from... such a complicated question.

It all started in 1696 (well it started way before then but this is what's on paper). Adam Xaverius administrator of the Magyarovar domain granted 42 Joch to 68 people. The particular town they had been granted, Sankt Andrea, had been abandoned for nearly 200 years. Then the evil Count (later Prince) Esterhazy decided he was going to take the land instead. So my family moved from their to a town to the North East, Halbturn (at the time it was actually called Feltorony). For 170 years they lived there until, due to the fact everyone in the town was related to everyone else, they moved to North Dakota, (which conincidentally everyone there is now related to me as well as the entire family decided to move there, which consisted of a very large group).

    Ok, that's the 1st 1/16th...

    [face_devil]

Nah, I'm not going to continue... ;)

I'm actually living in COlorado Springs right now, although since I'm an Army brat I guess you could say I'm from everywhere.

So Hungarian ancestors if I understand it correctly?

Finding ancestors is fun. If I don't go in a straight line I can actually trace some kind of relation to Charlemagne.

    Albuquerque, NEW MEXICO!

I need to find a really good picture, though.

We celebrate our tricentennial this year. She may not look like much, but she's got it where it counts!

Balloon Fiesta, green chile, the Dewback Ridge Squad of the 501st, gorgeous sunsets, beautiful mountains, breathtaking plateaus, and amazing history!
