So where was the Fett motif/theme in AOTC?

Before I saw AOTC, I read somewhere that either the Fett motif or the Fett "theme" (Escape of Boba Fett) would be incorporated in a more "metallic" way into AOTC.

However, after multiple views, I really couldn't here any of the old Fett CUES from ESB at all, let alone variations of them.

Did I just miss it or what?

The only allusion to Fett music I heard was when Boba opens the apartment door for Obi-Wan and Taun We. When the camera shows a close-up of Boba, horns play in a similar manner as in Empire, when Boba is escorting the frozen Han to his ship. It sounds a little like a funeral dirge. In AOTC, the quote of that theme is very quick, so keep an ear out for it. :)

In AOTC, I didn't hear the other Fett theme from ESB: that strange atonal bassoon rumbling that plays when they first introduce Boba.

Actually, that "funeral dirge" you're talking about ISN'T Fett's Motif, it's just a random cue. :)

Boba Fett's Motif plays at 3 different other times in the movie and is a low bassoon motif. :)

I must have bad ears, because I couldn't here the Fett motif in AOTC (too much Metallica, probably).

Could someone tell me when the cue is used?

EDIT: Unless Sithman was talking about ESB.........

I dunno man, I'm not convinced it's just coincidence.

Listen to the ESB special ed. soundtrack; Disc 2, track 9 (Carbon Freeze), at 4:52. This is music from when Boba is escorting frozen-Han through the corridors of Bespin.

Now listen to the AOTC soundtrack, track 1, 2:04-2:11. This bit is shortened in the soundtrack, versus in the movie. But you can still recognize the high-low horn progression. In the movie, that high-low is repeated twice while the camera zooms in on Boba.

I believe this was a musical quote.

ouch, but that's not Boba's Theme from TESB you're talking about, that's just a cue from TESB!

Fat-Fett- Yah, I was talking about TESB.

well, it might not be Boba's Theme in name, but those two cues I am talking about are both played when a scene featuring Boba is on-screen. That's enough for me.

Although it would have been neat to hear the bassoon-motif when they showed Boba in AOTC.

IMO, they shoulda played Boba's Motif when Boba picks up Jango's helmet at the end in mourning. A foreshadowing of what he's to become both musically and visually. :)

strange isn't it, that we suffer so much confusion about as little a thing as this cue .... ;)

I noticed this motif you speak of during my first viewing. I'm sure maybe originally since that part in the soundtrack was track one and Lucas rearranged the entire thing I think he put it there specifically.
