I for one, have no choice, because I volunteered to write a bring Mara back to life fanfic, and it has to take account of everything, including Crucible.
So, I'm a glutton for punishment, it seems.

 

It took Troy Denning an entire novel to get across the same point to the audience that Rian Johnson managed to do in three words given to Rey in the TLJ trailer.

Who else could it be? I'm trying to think of characters in the post ROTJ era with D as the first letter in their name.

 

It's actually "Save Our Darth (Tyranus)" or "Save Our Dooku" - no reason these things have to be post-ROTJ. He's gotten a really poor deal in both the old and new continuities.

Well its made pretty clear Palpatine viewed him as a placeholder. He was in a far more limited and restrained position than Palpatine and wasn't strong or smart enough methinks to overthrow him(didn't he think he'd rule with Palpatine in some sort of partnership?).

The Tragedy of Darth Tyrannus is sad because an apparently idealistic, independent thinker, and proud master lost his way was seduced into darkness and promised things he was never going to get.

 

Basically at this point it looks like both Skywalker and Solo family is going the way of the dodo.

Ben Solo: killed in Episode 9.

Disney can literally do EU vs Disney EU. Some characters come in from EU via Hyperspace accident or something in Episode 10.

Also a rumor says we will have a open world RPG game. So Star Wars Yuuzhan Vong invasion? We can play one of Luke's student and one one of the mission is to survive Yavin 4? edit: and we can have another mission where we survive zombie mode Yuuzhan Vong attack until Mara give birth to Ben or something.

 

Such a profound statement so much better than Traitor/s.

Wait so is it confirmed Rey isn't a skywalker?

It's not confirmed yet. It's a rumor. There are some people who analyzed Rey's lightsaber fighting skill and says it's exactly how Palpatine fights.
And there are cosplayer who plays Sith Rey.
Then there's going to be a huge backlash: Luke is a bad parent who abandoned his kid for 20 plus years.

 

We won't know for sure until the movie comes out. Her lineage is an extremely closely guarded secret they are keeping, Anyone who tries to say they know at this point is only giving their own opinion on the matter.

 

I will be surprised if they reject the family angle all together.

 

It's like watching a comically bad movie, i.e. Plan 9 From Outer Space. So bad it's funny.

She was in her teens at the time - and the person responsible for the promotion was Tarkin, who was also her lover.

Sure, Tarkin told himself that she could have risen to Admiral a bit slower without any input from him - but he may be a bit prone to self-deception.

Ciena could be said to be Daala without all the problematic things - Tarkin notices her and encourages her - but he doesn't sleep with her - she rises fast to Captain, but not to Admiral - and of course she doesn't have bright green eyes and bright red hair (very rare in the real world and commonly cited as symptoms of a character being a "pet character" of an author - Mara Jade got a lot of flak for this, too.)

"New and improved Daala" might be a good way of describing her, just as Rae Sloane is sometimes called "New and improved Pellaeon" by some.

 

Wait how are red hair and eyes a pet character? And how is Sloan better than Palleaon?

 

According to Jello at least, Sloane is less cowardly and less mutinous, while still filling Pellaeon's role of "ordering retreat at Endor" plus "taking command of Imperial military".
