Lol, No - My former sibling used to watch those maniacle banana brains. Its a scar that remains with me to this day.
My preference was Thomas the Tank Engine, Transformers etc.

So any more disucssion? By the looks of things, its going to be on the 10th, Adelaide High School, and the original trilogy.
More discussion ppl. If anyone has an objection to the 10th, then say nowz. Because as MS said, we should really decide a date so we can book it before someone else does.

    So, I ask again:

1: Only one trilogy? No-one's up for a huge Ep 1-6 marathon?
2: Are the other venues I suggested not up for consideration? I'm not that fussed either way (not 100% sure I'll even be in Adelaide for this) but I'm considering people's comfort and their backs / butts! ;) Mind you, for only 3 films it'd probably be okay I guess.

    Response to Skipp:
    1. It would be good, but I think doing a split event would be better. People tend to get irratble sitting in front of the screen all day.
    2. If we had more details on how to book these locations, then we may factor this in. However, houses/sheds may not be ideal due to size and weather.
    3. Even if we were to do a 6 movie marathon, it'd be far too long. We'd have to start early, and finish late - and for those of us who catch public transport, but want to stay for the whole thing would cause a bit of a problem.

If I'm right in assuming that we could start at 10am and finish around 4.30/5pm incl. Lunch/BBQ etc.

Also, need to factor in that some venues such as schools may not like their property being open past a certain time etc.

Regarding more details about how to book them, I'm not posting them here, but if you're interested just ask. Like I said, no skin off my nose, and I do appreciate Adelaide High is a spiritual home for many here (hell, I used to teach in that very room)...I'm just thinking of the comfort of people's rear ends ;)

Unfortunately I can't find a single pic online of either venue for comparison [face_frustrated]

Regarding peoples assets, we'd have small/medium sized intermissions between the movies + bbq lunch.

Heh AHS is our HQ. XD

I'll bring the water proof bean bag then ;) I've not heard any of the Rifftrax, but it sounds like a good idea - even with A New Hope.

I can only watch one movie at a time. No way I'd be able to sit for three movies. Especially if I'm not on my lounge with feet up/ or laying down. Just too long for me in one sitting.

    Count me out. Sorry dude.

I'm the opposite... I'm a COMPLETE couch potato.... I could watch the entire saga including all specials & fanfilms...

I've spent a couple of days on the futon before just watching TV... was quite enjoyable apart from my back pain being intolerable....

LTG, just because there'll be lots shown, doesn't mean you must stay for all of it. If you just want to watch one movie, then just watch the one. As long as you help contribute to the cost of hiring the space, it's all good :) Some people will stay the whole time, others won't.

there's also the social side of things, anyone can stay as long or as little as they like...we won't be locking people in...will we ? [face_worried]

Well, going by whats been discussed - and no more interest in the thread - I suppose as myself and MS are organizing this

    When: January 10th, 2009
    Est. Start: 10.00~10.30am
    Lunch/BBQ: 12.00~1.00pm
    Est. Finish: 4.00~5.00pm
Where: Adelaide High School, West Terrace - Adelaide
Movies being played: Star Wars - Episode IV ~ VI (By majority rules of poll)
    Requirement:

*** A sizable portion of food for the BBQ/Lunch
Doesn't just have to be meat. You can bring a home made salad, coleslaw, a desert like a cake?, just something thats big enough for all of us to share, and if theres leftovers, people can take what they want home with them :)
    *** Cushions as required
I don't remember how good the chairs were, but bring a cushion/pillow just in case.
*** $2 for Entry per head
This is just to cover the cost of the hiring of the hall. Anything left over after that I suppose can be put towards SAFF funds.
    *** BYO Drinks
Bring ya own drinks, to save hassles of particular tastes and likes.

As for the BBQ, who cooked last time, and who brought the BBQ, or was it already there?

    - Any complaints guys?

    Attendance List:
    Darth Rha'dei
    Darth Ashara
    Master Skywalker
    Starfire Pheonix
Evil Incarnate ** Unsure as of yet.
