Hmm, what to do, what to do...I suppose a return to Alice is in order. ;)

    "Alice..."

Now Bob is the bump on the right, and Rob is the bump on the left.

    "Oh Alice..."

Or was it the other way around? It would make sense for the right bump to be Rob since Rob starts with an "R" which would help her remember that "right" = "Rob".

"Alice, won't you come and play?"

But then again, the right bump really looked more like a Bob than a Rob to Alice. Well, not that she knew a Bob or a Rob, but sometimes you just had to go with your gut instinct on these sort of things.

"Alice, won't you come and stay?"

So the right bump would have to be Bob, and the left bump therefore would have to be Rob. The large hole in the ceiling is Mary, and the cluster of cracks is Alice. Although Alice never had a problem remembering her own name, she thought it might be a good idea to create a reminder in her mind just in case.

"Alice, won't you come and slay?

"No, little sock, I will not come to play, or stay or--" Alice responded, pausing at the end. An idea began to gel in her mind.

    "Alice..."

    "ALICE..."

"ALICE! TURN OFF THE LIGHT AND GO TO SLEEP!" a voice roared.

Twitching, Alice's head jerked back and forth, her eyes nervously moving all over the room, looking for the source of the voice. Abruptly, the door of her room slammed open, and a burly woman with dark hair and a bandaged hand stormed in. Alice's eyes flicked from the woman to the large hole in the ceiling. Who was this person? Alice's eyes stopped moving and she stared at the ceiling, pondering for a moment.

    "Hello Mary," Alice said politely.

Angrily, Mary strode over to Alice and slapped her soundly with her good hand. Alice didn't even flinch. Cursing, she slapped Alice again who barely felt the blow in her drugged state.

"I think our little knife incident today has proven that you're still an evil little girl," Mary sneered as she took off her belt.

"I am not--" Alice started softly.

"You are too evil and if I have to beat the devil out of you I will," Mary snapped, waving the belt in front of Alice's face.

"I am not a little girl. Not anymore," Alice finished. Smiling, she turned her head to look at Mary as she said, "After all, I am rather big for a little girl."

    "Alice..."

    "Grab the belt, Alice..."

    "Go away," Alice mumbled.

Mary's eyes widened in surprised, then narrowed in anger. "WELL! If that alone doesn't prove you need discipline--"

"Not you," Alice groaned. "The other voice. The socks. They won't leave me alone."

Mary grabbed the blanket and threw it off of Alice. She reached down and hauled Alice out her bead by her hair. Alice felt this, and couldn't help but get out a small cry. Mary forced Alice to her knees, her eyes gleaming with hatred for the insane little girl who had dared to hurt her.

"The devil must be beaten out of you, girl. Though sometimes I think it would be faster to simply kill you. Your voice would be gone then, wouldn't then?" Mary cackled. The belt cracked through the air, and Alice felt it slap against her back.

    "Grab the belt, Alice!

Normally, the garden was alive with beautiful colors, and the smell of fresh roses would fill the air.

Today the garden wasn't so beautiful. All the flowers were wilted, and the stench of decay filled the air.

The cakes weren't very fresh. In fact, she wasn't quite sure that the berries on top were even really berries.
