Dead men lying on the bottom of the grave
Wondering when savior comes, is he gonna be saved
Maybe you're a sinner into your alternate life
Maybe you're a joker, maybe you deserve to die

Death and fire. The two main things on this battlefield that conjured up hell itself. The wide, dead plains that they were battling on was covered with blood and bodies of Clone Troopers and droid parts. Too much death and suffering was going on in this battlefield, filled with sorrow and anger, as well as fear and regret. The Force rippled here like a blade cutting through paper, the darkside gathering through the Force, caused by emotions and death. Many wondered, when they died here on this dead planet, if they would become one with the Force, or become absolute nothingness. Many were hoping their savior, the Force, will save them.

The only person that was not scared on this hellhole of a planet was Jedi Knight and General Anakin Skywalker. It was strange that it was here that Anakin didn't let his emotions control him. He was calm, not even worried about the dreaded thing called death. He just slashed through driod after droid with his glowing blade of blue light, his long hair that he had grown out drenched with sweat. Maybe he wasn't worried because he deserved to die. Maybe, if he died here, he would be remembered for the many things he's done for this war. Maybe he did deserve to die. But none of that mattered. Not here or now.

They were crying when their sons left
    God is wearing black
He's gone so far to find no hope
    He's never coming back

They were crying when their sons left
    All young men must go
He's come so far to find the truth
    He's never going home

Padme, of course, was concerned when she heard that Anakin was coming to this planet. Anakin forgot the name of this planet, and, right now, he didn't care. The only thing that ran through his mind was the look on Padme's face when she heard where she was going.

"But you'll die," she had cried.

"No, I won't, my love," Anakin had said, stroking her smooth cheek with his gloved prosthetic hand. "I promise, I'll return."

Padme gave him the final kiss and broke down as Anakin had made his way towards the transport.

Anakin knew he had a low chance of coming home. This would turn out to be the bloodiest battle in the Clone Wars, after all. So many Jedi around Anakin were already dropping, even Masters. But, regardless, Anakin still stood, cutting through the droids, hoping to drive their army back.

It's not like Anakin had a choice to come here. If he had it his way, he'd be back at the Padme's apartment. sharing with her some of the battles he's had, as well as explain the vertical scar near his right eye. But, he had no choice. All Jedi Masters, Knights, and even some Padawans had to go. By now, although Anakin hasn't had a scratch on him, yet, this battle, he had a strange feeling that he's never going home. Maybe the truth that the Jedi were trying to root out, which is one considering the hidden Sith Lord, will never be found. It's such a sad thing, to come so far and find no truth.

Young men standing on the top of their own graves
Wondering when Jesus comes, are they gonna be saved
Cruelty to the winner, bishop tells the king his lies
Maybe you're a mourner, maybe you deserve to die

They were crying when their sons left
    God is wearing black
He's gone so far to find no hope
    He's never coming back

They were crying when their sons left
    All young men must go
He's come so far to find no truth
    He's never going home

Anakin felt as though he were standing on his own grave, right now. Will the Force come and save him, as it normally does? Or, will it shine black and shun him, leaving him to die a most horrible death? Anakin felt like he wanted to cry. He knows, now, that he's not leaving this battlefield alive. There's no denying the enevitable. But, he mustn't cry. He must cry when he finally sees Padme again, with tears of joy. He must go home.

=D= Great job, I liked the way you described Anakin's emotions in battle, something one doesn't see that often. And the way he was going to have to go home because Padme was waiting there for him. ;)
