When will we see the first trailer??

Let's start a pool. Closest without going over. I take November 17.

 

My guess is early - some sort of teaser July 14th at D23. I'm probably way off base (especially as R1 and TLJ have shown that LFL isn't starting the marketing train too early...), but that's my guess as they're going to have to walk an odd line with marketing two films releasing so close to each other.

 

Yeah, D23 is my guess too!

 

I thought a trailer dropped. Lol.

Hopefully by August.

 

TLJ and R1 both released their trailers in April–8 months before their film release. 8 months before the Solo movie would be October. Unfortunately that's also about the time that the final TLJ trailer is likely to drop. So, I'm going to go a bit early and say September. Why? Because by November they'll have fully boarded the TLJ hype train and will not want to derail that with the Han trailer. September, the TLJ products will have just been released in stores and a trailer will likely have been released in August, but it will not be time for the hype train to go full speed yet. It's a nice, safe time for them to drop it and then wait for TLJ's promotion to end before switching gears to promote the Solo movie full-time.

 

January, Feb. They need you obsessed with 8, and at the height of your obsession, spring Han Solo onto you.

If they have good marketing sense, 8 will be full of characters being nostalgic for Han. Setting the stage

 

I think we'll see the teaser in September, since that allows it to start marketing just a bit ahead of schedule while also keeping it well out of the way of the "The Last Jedi" blitz that's going to start rolling the next month with the final TLJ trailer followed by all the TV spots and ubiquitous brand tie-ins. If I had to guess, the first full trailer will be in mid-January; not attached to The Last Jedi. Mid-January allows it to come out while everyone is starting to down from their TLJ high, but with Star Wars is still on their minds.

 

Maybe we see the trailer when 8 hits the cinema.

 

I wonder if we get the first Han Solo teaser trailer before or after the release of The Last Jedi.

 

Maybe it will be DURING The Last Jedi....

Talk about having a captive audience.

 

I Say they save It for December because essentially The movie comes out May 2018 and they don't want to steal The Last Jedi's thunder. If I am wrong and it comes out before that then That would be great, may be summer 2017 !!!

2nd Trailer in February or March 2018

 

Going to see a SW movie and seeing a trailer for another SW movie, would be crazy! Might happen though!!

 

How cool would it be to not announce the title until the trailer?
