    You can do BASIC programming on it, as for web design, ermmmm get some paper and a pen!

    Well you can see the BASIC on the screen so its visual! And if your tutors don't like it slap them. At least they don't go wrong!

    I'm sure edexcel will fail me for it though. Seriously apparantly this modem is compatible with windows 2000 but I cant get it to work. I think it's me everytime I try to install it the thing wont work

    yeah. im taking the dust thingy too far...

    a new 56kbps modem shouldnt be all that expensive. shop around. a decent 2nd hand one is about £7-10

    I can find them, I just dont have any money after the last week which is a bummer as I need the new hard drive but I also need the internet so ....stuck :(

    i know how you feel. my PC is a 100mHz Pentium. SVGA graphics, and its 6 years old. I have to reprogramme the bios every time i switch it on because the bios battery has run out, and the clock doesnt work either. it crashes nearly every day and i cant run any modern software on it at all.

    but i dont have enough money to upgrade it. :(

    dont worry. you still have me, TTG, AFI, and a load of other people you hardly know on these forums!

    ermm its more the point I have to update a web page and the fact I moderate another board.

    Why don't you get a new battery for the BIOS?

    Just install Windows XP Home Edition- I swear by it, where as before anything by Microsoft I used to swear AT!!!

    I have XP profesional and it works ok actually, and today am suprised because it hasn't told me about low hard drive space! Been trying to get rid of that for months!
