After looking at StarWars so many, many times, I've always wondered when space fighters or whoever set their coordinates, where on the planet do they go to? I mean, Dagobah is just Dagobah, and the same with Geonosis. The characters name a planet and they travel to that particular planet but there's almost never a specific location on the planet that they set out for. They just land on the planet itself or the surface of the planet and BOOM, they're in the right place. It was like this with Tatooine, Dagobah, Endor, and Geonosis.

The only time when someone landed on a specific place within a planet it was Thead on Naboo or Cloud City on Bespin. Does anyone understand what I'm saying here?

I know what you mean and i think they happen to land in the right place because

1 . its the will of the force

2 . its a movie and there isnt 2 hours to have the characters search the planet for someone .

    Tatooine

the droids just landed there on accident.

    Dagobah

yoda probably played a part in guiding luke there.

    Endor

they must have set some kind of cordinates, becasue they knew where the shield generator was.

    Geonosis

    obi wan just got lucky.

They land in the right place because the ships have scanning technology to indicate where the life form readings are on a planet.

In ESB Luke says to R2 that he wasn't picking and cities or technology, but massive life-form readings.

    Lets go through the Saga

    Naboo Episode I
The Jedi just land in the same place as the Federation.

    Tatooine Episode I
They just land near a city.
Thats it. They knew where a city would be and that is where they landed.

    Coruscant Episode I
They had coordinates on where to land.

    Naboo Episode I
They had coordinates on where to land

    Coruscant Episode II
They had coordinates on where to land

    Naboo Episode II
They had coordinates on where to land

    Kamino Episode II
Obi-Wan could have either landed at where the city was. Or just used the force to find the city.

    Tatooine Episode II
Anakin had the coordinates to Mos Espa and later to Mos Eisley

    Geonosis Episode II
    Jango had Coordinates
Obi followed Jango probably by using the force or by just tracking him.

    Geonosis Episode II
Anakin followed the force on to where Obi would be.

    Geonosis Episode II
Mace and the Jedi followed the force.

    Corucsant Episode II
    Dooku had coordinates.

    Tatooine ANH
    The droids landed at random

    The Death Star ANH
    Caught the falcon

    Yavin
The Falcon had coordinates to the rebel base.

    Dagobah
Yoda brough Luke down to right where he wanted him.

    Bespin
    Han and Leia had coordinates
    Luke followed the force.

    Tatooine ROTJ
    They had coordinates

    Dagobah
    Luke had coordinates

    Endor
    They had the coordinates.

For kamino, if Luke can get life readings, maybe they can get metal readings as well. That would be a good way for Obiwan to find the largest city so fast.

lets face it, the fanboy answer to any supposed plothole is "he used the force."

closure, but lame closure none the less.

Not everything needs to be explained as "use the force". You don't think Bespin and Kamino had landing beacons that all ships that come in can home in on? I'm sure that whenever you're going to land on a planet you have to speak to some sort of air traffic controler to guide you in.

The only one where "used the force" seems appropriate is Luke landing on Dagobah in ESB.

As for people going to Geonosis, Obi-wan followed Jango. He did put a homing device on his ship remember? It would not be hard to pinpoint Obi's position from the hologram message. And that's not even taking into account the possiblity that R4 put out some sort of distress beacon.

How is these even remotely resembling a supposed plothole? And as for explanations, I think Darth-Seldon did a pretty good job of doing that.

"lets face it, the fanboy answer to any supposed plothole is "he used the force." "

What plot hole? The poster just didn't pay attention. The answer is in ANH either OT or SE. The Falcon is in a landing bay in a city, Mos Eisley. The reason they landed in the forest in ROTJ is because if they landed on the Imperial landing platform the mission would've been a little short. Also Endor has no cities.

In TPM Qui Gon tells them to land on the outskirts to avoid attention. In AOTC they land in Mos Espa in a landing bay.

It just takes a bit of attention. That and you actually have to watch the movie as well.
