FF:QLD Something funny about The Two Towers

When I went on Boxing day, there was a short sequence with Gladriel communicating with Elrond about the old union between elves and men, presumably with reference to the Helm's Deep situation. I believe it was before the elves showed up at the Deep.

When I saw it again on new years day, I didn't notice that sequence even though I was looking out for it. Did anyone else have this experience??

Why do the Elves even go to Helm's deep in the Movie, that doesn't even happen in the book? Not to mention where are the Huorns?

 

I saw the sequence in the movie but seeing as how I haven't been to see it again I don't know if it's been changed.

I think most of us agree that the LOTR films are better than the prequels.
That said I believe most of us love the idea of Star Wars better what with the whole peripheral world of collecting and games and the Expanded universe.

Do you think eps 1 & 2 are carp?
I don't, loved both of them. They're just not as good as LOTR.
I also think the ep3 will be the best of the prequels. We'll finally get to see the 'birth' of vader, the rise of the empire and we'll have a bridge between the original trilogy and the prequels
