It is difficult to get people to submit stories, if you have a board or a website archive, I've noticed, but then it might just be because my site is centred around original characters and the minor ones. I only write original character stories because I think that in such a large universe, Luke and Obi - Wan wouldn't be the only characters that have adventures!

Be patient with it and I agree with you about people should be members and they post stories themselves. One of the things I've noticed is that outside of the Force.net, fan fiction writers, and readers for that matter, seem to be spread thin. I should know, I've searched many times for one. If you're patient, it might pick up, though.
