Beyond - Legends Songfic: Feelings of Failure. L/M, angst.

This is a songfic of Mara's thoughts while she's in the cell in my fic 'The Broken Balance' to when she makes a descision

I thought i'd give it a try even though it doesn't sound that good.

Mara watched as the door to her cell shut leaving her in the pitch-blackness.
A lone tear escaped from her left eye and trailed down her cheek.

Come back to me,
For I love you so.

Mara ran her hand over the smooth floor and wall to find out about her cell after unsuccessfully trying to use the Force.

Remember me my love,
You had loved me so.

Sitting against the hard, cold wall Mara closed her eyes as she focused to center herself.

What has he done to you,
To make you dismiss me?

Malicious laughter filled the cell and Mara looked up knowing that she could not see him.

Your Master?s laugh is sickening,
Threatening to chill me to the core.
I?ll fight him in any way I can,
I?ll make a plan.

?Plan all you want. You are not leaving this cell until you are under my full control!? The Sith snarled.

Threaten me,
Torture me,
I ?will? still plan.

?Mara Palpatine.? The Sith said smoothly.

Mara?s eyes widened in shock and her anger began to simmer.

Who does he think he is.
That I?ll believe his lies.

Soon she was alone again as her despair continued to grow.

I will still save you,
Even if what he says is true.
I won?t let you go.

A day goes by or has it been two?
Since I was put into this cell,
I hope you are well,
I do know that not to be true.

Sudden light temporarily blinded her and she blinked a few times as her eyes adjusted to this change. Then there she saw him and a small spark of hope ran through her. She said his name only to be ignored as he began to talk.

?There is no escape from the darkside Mara. Join us.? He offered.

I reply in rebuttal at what he said,
Deep inside I dread,
A bit of doubt that he was right.

As he come close to me,
I realize that I?m afraid,
The price that was paid,
So I may be free,
May be forfeited.

He kissed my trembling lips,
I have no strength to resist.
My lover is being used to make me fall.


Mara woke up and felt that she was laying on something soft. Just as she was sitting up the lights of the room came on as Luke entered the room.

Anger fills me as he talks,
In anger I respond.

I?m presented with an offer,
Either one I choose,
I muse,
I loose.

Mara bowed her head and looked at the worn gray sheet, ?I?ll stay and pledge my devotion to Emperor Tychoosf.?

I choose to suffer,
With my lover.

I failed him,
So I shall stay,
And serve my new Master,
With my lover at my side.

I?ll forever love you Luke,
Even in the darkside?s grasp,
I will love you Luke forever.

 

Mara no, don't do it Mara. Luke what are you thinking.
