I was listening to the radio on the way to work and came upon Ed Sheeran's Perfect. I pictured a perfect beautiful looking couple, in black and white, laughing, chasing each other around the yard, kissing, throwing leaves at each other. I thought it would be funny if in between those shots we see the same couple, shot in color, fighting in the supermarket, or yelling at the dog, etc. I want the "real" life events with no music, cut between the black and white Perfect shots.

Then I thought, is there a music video for this song already? Youtube is blocked at work. Great, I'm getting 3G on my phone. Where's the LTE? Let's see Airplane mode on. Airplane mode off. Wifi off. Facebook. Oh crap, I'm supposed to be going to Youtube.

 

I, too, now want to find out if there is a music video for that song and whether your imagination is correct.

 

I just went on Youtube. First I watched the Incredibles 2 trailer.

The Perfect video is not shot in black and white, but the video stars Ed Sheeran and the actress from Why Him. The two are friends and he wants to tell her something. Oh no, here come other friends. They are up at a ski lodge. Ed and girl finally get some alone time, the video becomes meta as he's now singing along with the song as she starts to tear up. You can guess what happens from there. Yep, they kiss in the snow at night, find a cat, and then dance in the snow in the morning.

If I had the skills and money, I'd hire the actress and a different male actor, shoot it all in black and white and inter-cut it with the color scenes like I said.

 

I'm now thinking about disappointment

 

I cannot help but think about 18th Century wars. Just randomly popped into my head.

 

I enjoy Maurice LaMarche's Orson Welles impersonation voice but it's just distinct enough from the real Welles that it's not particularly convincing.

Sometimes coffee's laxative qualities work so fast on me that it makes more sense to just sit on the toilet while I finish my drink and post on Star Wars forums.

Is this efficient? Does it waste more time depending on coffee temperature? Should I be concerned about my health or is it ultimately a blessing, two birds with one dump?
