Saw this being designed a while back but completly forgot about it, but now it's finished for the Jedi Academy PC game:

yeah it is. the only thing you could do is run at the person, with your arms like 3 feet in front of you.

i've been playing with the idea of a saber like that in my head for some time.
i wasnt actually thinking different blades, more like a "lightshield" or something...

looks cool, but it'd be completely worthless. (as said earlier: suicide... then again, thats what some people thought about a double bladed saber when it first came out...)

This is SO the worst thing since black lightsabers, light daggers, and lightsaber nunchaku. This is a good example of why the sith are all pretty much dead.

Some more bad ideas for the future:

    -Light butter knife

-Light Spork (I find this so humorous though)

    -three bladed saber

-saber in each hand while controlling a third with telekenetic jedi powers (good concept, but corny)

-Light frisbee (how would you throw it?)

    -Light yo-yo

-Light anal probe (to make that proctologist visit even more fun)

-Lightsaber gunblade (although a regular gunblade is a pretty dumb idea for a weapon in my opinion, but for some reason it's appealing to allot of people, so I won't nag too much.)

-a double bladed lightsaber in each hand (although sword play with a double edged weapon is already suicide enough if you're not an expert.)

-R2-D2's new lightsaber attachment (he can already fly, we need something else to joke about now.)

    -invisible saber

    -light spear

    -lightsaber hat

    -light bow and arrow.

-light katana (might be cool with a few modifications to the glow to gie it a flame look)

    -switchblade lightsaber

    -wolverine with lightsaber claws

    -light-grappling hook

    -light handcuffs

    -you get the idea

you'd throw it very carefully... maybe the outside is the saber part and the inside isnt... so it would still cut through stuff and the thrower could hold the inside... it'd be weird, but cool.

Guilty of nunchaku and daggers (sort of).

-Light frisbee (how would you throw it?)

Done. It looks good. Don't try it, it's mine.

-a double bladed lightsaber in each hand (although sword play with a double edged weapon is already suicide enough if you're not an expert.)

    Done, but as a joke.

    -light spear

Done. You were wrong again, it's cool.

    -switchblade lightsaber

Isn't that sort of the same exact thing as a lightsabre?

Heh! I'm guilty of three of the offenses on this thread... I'll mention the light-daggers and the light-frisbie, but the third I won't mention until it's been seen in action.

The frisbie ignites when you throw it. It's not exactly a useful weapon, because it's slower than a blaster, and that much easier to block.

The light-daggers act very well in combination with a long sword in my opinion... and are also good for throwing. I think they're effective, but nothing incredible.

The third offense - you'll just have to wait and see (you'll see it Thursday Covax - so no mention of it here please). It's a biatch to choreograph with because it's so versatile you can pretty much defend anything spontaneously, but it's easily the most effective weapons combination I've seen in a fanfilm. Anyone who has done double-bladed saber choreography knows a yahoo with a sword doesn't really stand a chance - and everything has to be choreographed in his favour in order for him to win. Needles to say with this baby a DBL'd Sith would need to pull out all the tricks in order to stand a chance.

EDIT: I've seen R2 with a lightsaber attachment (vs. Yoda) - it's amazing.

about the Bounty Hunter in BA, it is a blaster with an adjustable grip and in the back of the weapon there's the lightsaber...

and about the frisbee... how about a light-Boomerang with a Cortosis* glove...

*=that thing that resists lightsabers... i'm not sure of the spelling...

    R2 vs. Yoda?

The switchblade was meant as a joke...like the light-anal probe...

There's a difference between a "DISK" and a "FRISBEE" (however it's spelled). A 'disk' goes away, a 'frisbee' goes away and returns to the sender, which would yeild very bad results.

I saw the TRON 'disk', and yes, it is pretty neat, but they also ride 'light cycles' so obviously light based mechanisms have no negative effect on things in TRON.

Spear...when was that done in a fashion that looked good?
