So I just finished the Jakku story and oh my god, it was incredible. Any Luke fan thinking of skipping this book is a fool.

It's a book that literally paints him as a mythic figure. What is not to love??

Following this topic and reading your teasers about the book made me buy it for kindle, and the first story convinced me to switch to this book immediately although I was halfway through the truly great From a certain point of view anthology. It is great learning new information about Luke, and that first story is hilarious with all its conspiracy theory approach and all. :) So, the certain point of view takes a break until I finish this book.

I cant read The Legends of Luke Skywalker at my own pace. I'm reading it to my sons. They are loving it. It especially works because the deckhands being told these stories are around the same age as my 11 year old.

I'll add this one to my mental to do list since it seems to be very much about talking about how Luke is awesome and we need more of that in general.

It really is so good. I only have 2 stories left, everyone has been great thus far.

I am a little afraid that this high will make the low of a Luke Skywalker crippled with doubt so much more of a shock, though.

Finished the audio of this yesterday. Really a lot of fun, and reveals in a cool way not only how the world approaches the figure of Luke, but WHAT different aspects of his myth stood out and resonated. And I liked that in the stories that closest approximate an in-person encounter, the things about him that impressed or shocked the teller about him. His humility and kindness are brought out, and his ability to be both teacher and student at the same time with the same companion. When Luke was portrayed in what we think of as out of character, it reflected far more on the teller of the story, and his message. You can see what stories an encounter with Luke inspired a person, and in which the idea of Luke was used as a tool for gain or to further one's personal agenda.

For those disappointed about the messy canonicity of the stories, it's possible you missed the point - canonically, all of those stories are told about Luke in the GFFA, and it reveals a LOT about both him, and the Galaxy as a whole. I really enjoyed it.

I think there are three stories that have pretty strong narrative credibility, the first told by Dwoogan(because that story really isnt about the conspiracy theory that makes up the bulk of the tale), the story on Lew'el, and the droid story. For various reasons. The droid one because, despite having been passed through the grapevine... droids would be less prone to exaggeration and imprecise conveyance of information amongst themselves.

I havent yet finished the book though.

FYI, Battlefront II has some really great Luke content in the single-player campaign mode. <3

Yeah, for all that's it's apparently screwed the pooch in every other respect, the Luke level sounds epic.

If you take the Luke Campaign for Battlefront II and add that to The Legends of Luke Novel, there is some interesting things.

Sadly, I’m not a “gamer”, so if anyone gets it and can share some Luke stuff, that would be great! :)

    Luke,

single highhandedly defeats an Imperial strike team, recovers a Jedi compass, and basically turns a member of the Empire's dreaded Inferno squad to the light, just by being a cool dude.
