I'll eat my words... I somewhat enjoyed the Eragon score. Although it did take me a few listens to get into it.

Oh and The Fountain got a Golden Globe nomination for Best Score. [face_dancing]

I'm planning on stopping and picking up The Fountain today on my way home.

And, yeah, Eragon is a fun, energetic listen. It's a bit repetitive, but fun nonetheless.

If you haven't checked out Pan's Labyrinth, definitely do. It's truly an enchanting original piece of work.

I recently got The Fountain and I have been listening to it continuously - it is so beautiful!

I got the Prestige too, but I think that's just ok...although I think it might grow on me.

I am going to get Lady in the Water score next, since everyone here seems to like it so much...

Alright, of all the soundtracks released in 2006, I bought 26. Here is my top ten list:

    1. Pan's Labyrinth - Javier Navarrete
    2. Lady in the Water - James Newton Howard
    3. The Good German - Thomas Newman (This was offered on iTunes by mistake for a few days. I was lucky enough to get it)
    4. The Fountain - Clint Mansell
    5. The Da Vinci Code - Hans Zimmer
    6. The Nativity Story - Mychael Danna
    7. The Departed - Howard Shore
    8. The Black Dahlia - Mark Isham
    9. Casino Royale - David Arnold
    10. Blood Diamond - James Newton Howard

Obviously, some scores have fallen in and out of favor since I started this thread (I decided to eliminate The Promise since the film came out in 2005). Now that the year is nearly over, I'd like to see what the favorites were of everyone else. I'd like to do a top ten cue post, but that will take a considerably longer time to do, so I probably won't post that until sometime in January.

I don't have a top ten, but I'd list Lady In The Water, The Fountain, and The Departed as my favorite scores of '06.

I really didn't know what thread to post this in, but, as I was watching the Sydney New Years Eve fireworks last night, I noticed a familiar tune in the background. Each year a movie theme is usually thrown into the mix with the fireworks and this year the Main Title from X3 was used! Interesting choice!

X-Men 3 is my favourite just for the Phoenix theme music (Tragedy of Dark Phoenix/Whirlpool of Love/Phoenix Rises/The Last Stand)
