This seems to be a slight continuity problem along the lines of the multiple looks of Borsk Fey'la.
In the RPG we're shown fairly bulky Stormtroopers which look like sort of like those underwater suits used for extreme depths. However in Rogue Squadron:the Rebel Oppossition we see another unit that looks totally different, and then one in the HEIR TO THE EMPIRE comic books which also got made into an action figure.
Which is the 'official' one, or are all three just different types?

There might be different models of the troopers. THere's a really good picture in one of the old RPG books.

Yah, that bugs me too. At the artist panel at CII, the represented art folks expresed a disire for an EU art director at LFL to sort it all out. Oh well.

My opinion is that they all are diferent representations of the same trooper, with the blocky WEG trooper being the most accurate. I say this becouse the blocky WEG trooper has been repeated the most (trading card, X-wing game, model kit-- produced by WEG). Also the WEG trooper came first.
I read on the boards, so it may or may not be cannon, that the more angular model as seen in the comics is the Mark II, with the old blocky WEG being the Mark I. I hope this helps.

    Please excuse the spelling errors.

Different models, according to an article in star wars missions, or another source, IIRC.

Wow. I've never seen that version before. It looks like a mech or something. The version I always think of is the smaller one that more closely resembles a stormtrooper.

There's a spacetrooper action figure too. I think that gives added weight to that particular design.

True... I think that's how the spacetroopers were shown in the TTT comic, BTW.

I always pictured them as big, bulky stortroopers and the links to the spacetrooper image cut-away is almost exactly as I pictured them. The olny difference is that I pictured more of a stormtrooper helmet design for the head.

There were some Storm Troopers in A New Hope outside of the station with a type of pack on their backs. I always assumed that they were space troopers.

That WEG image is similar to the one used in XWA, for both the spacetroopers and the Zero G technicians. :)
