Seeing that I'm a motorcycle enthusiast, I was wondering earlier what the top speeds (MPH) are of both the Swoop (like the one in AOTC) and the military Speeder Bikes seen in ROTJ?

What's KPH in MPH? I only go by MPH.

And yes, the Swoop and the Speeder Bike do have different performances. Whilst the Swoop is something like a Harley Davidson (Custom Bike), the Speeder Bike is more like a Super Sports, like a Fire Blade or Ninja.

    KPH is 1.6 times MPH.

So, if they do have different top speeds.... what are they? And why didn't Bib tell us in his last post? Surely he must know that. Did he just want to reply in three posts, instead of one? [face_devil]

Owens swoop (that Anakin rode on tattoine) top speed is 350 KPH (217 MPH) that's out of the AOTC indredible cross-sections. :)

Bib:Shouldn't a kilometer be less then a mile? Just wonderd :)

Now this is why I hate bringing conversions of MPH and KPH into the equation. It all has my head in a spin! *feeling dizzy!*

So, the Swoop is only 2 MPH faster than the Suzuki GSX-1300 (one of the fastest motorcycles in the world)?

But now, what about the Speeder Bikes from ROTJ? By the looks of them, they should be even faster, seeing that they, like sports bikes, seem to be built more for speed than comfort.

They are less than a mile. A mile is equal to 1.6 kilometers.

So, chances are, to successfully pilot the speeder bikes from ROTJ, one either needs to be grown from a testube for that specific purpose, or be exceptionally sensitive to the force. Or be an ewok. Even then, the force is with one.

    Believe dat.

Swoops and Speeder Bikes have onboard computers in order to help the rider steer and avoid obstacles at high speed.

Actually, a land mile is equal to 1.609344 kilometers. Not to be confused with a nautical mile or a British mautical mile.

But how fast is 1 MGLT (either in kph or mph)?

That's an interesting fact about them having on board computers. However, I feel that it takes away from the skill of the rider, therefore, I'm afraid, I must disregard it. But, thanks fo da info.

Yeah, apparently they have repulsors on the front too, to assist you a bit in avoiding trees, pensioners, shield generator bunkers etc.
Can't remember where I read that now though. :p

They also have sensors in order to pick up oncoming obstacles. The computers themselves act a little like automatic pilots, but ones that assist the rider rather than taking over control altogether.
