I have heard a lot of people mentioning that they noticed that. It's a common problem for authors when they have a character with a name similar to one that actually exists. For example, in one of fantasy author Tad William's series, there is a character named Josua. At least twice it is typo-ed "Joshua".

Oh, there's a lot of errors in the first prints of SW books.
One that comes to mind is EoV I: Conquest, there is one part that refers to Anakin being surprised that his astromech droid, Fiver, could successfully pilot his "X5" X-wing (even though it was explicitly said to be an XJ X-wing earlier, so yes it is a real error)
Lol, so where can I find these X5 X-wings? I coulda sworn the most recent ones were the XJ3s (lmao)

On my copy of SBS it says"In the shadow of the treacherous enemy, the Jedi Knights reach their darkest hour...". No mention of the Empire.

On the other hand, if you want typos, check out the timeline in the front of SBS.

3 years after ANH : SW Ep,I The Empire Strikes Back

4 years after ANH: SW Ep.I, The Phantom Menace

And as far as Kyp/Kip goes. I didn't even notice it until someone here pointed it out.
I guess editing is becoming a lost art.

How about "Tenel Ta" in Jedi Under Seige?

or "...use the force" in Conquest?

or "most fiercest battle" on the back of Rebirth. Is that proper grammar?

i know, its not exactly like your reading experience is marred by a misspelling.

Though Its interesting to see them, I'm not having a go at pointing out errors- I do when I see them. But some people have a full nut @ the editors and writers. why bother??

because some feel they have to complain :)

I see it this way. Which is more annoying, a few spelling errors or a novel full of people saying "point" and snorting? :)

sorry, but the most glaring spelling error is on the acknowledgements page where my last name is spelled Espenchied instead of Espenscheid.

that's quite a last name you got there... mine's 'black'... short... straight to the point... it's a color. no one's spelled it wrong yet.

I've found grammar errors in Lord of the Rings. Probably because I've been doing so much grammar in English lately.
