SPIDER-MAN SWINGS ALL WEEKEND AT CINEMARK THEATER IN CLEVELAND

Comics, Video Games, and ACTOR Comic Fund to benefit from special promotions!

MACEDONIA, OH (July 2, 2004) -- Starting July 2 and running all throughout July 4th weekend, the Cinemark Theater in Macedonia, OH, just outside of Cleveland, celebrates the premiere of Spider-Man 2 with a bevy of great activities for Spider-Philes young and old:

Cleveland radio station Q104.1 will be on hand Saturday from 7-8pm, with Spider-Man 2 tickets given away on the radio station throughout the week leading up to the film?s release. T-shirts, hats and foam fingers are among the giveaways.

JC Comics and Cards of Cuyahoga Falls, OH will have a display setup Friday and Saturday, and will be giving away free comics in celebration of the national Free Comic Day!

EB Games will have a display setup Saturday and customers will be able to try out the brand-new Spider-Man 2 video game.

Local Marvel Comics artist Armando Gil has created special custom-made Spider-Man art to be used in a childrens? coloring contest!

Great prizes! ?The Very Best of Spider-Man,? a tremendous collection of Spider-Man comic stories past and present, is the grand prize in a charity raffle. The book is autographed by legendary Spider-Man co-creator Stan Lee, and raffle tickets are a mere $1 each or 6 for $5. ACTOR comic fund is the beneficiary of this charity raffle.

Cinemark Macedonia will be showing Spider-Man 2 on three screens all weekend. Tickets and showtimes can be found at http://www.cinemark.com/.

Cinemark?s lobby will be decorated especially to celebrate Spider-Man 2, the most highly anticipated film of the Summer!

Cinemark USA, Inc. operates 299 theatres and 3,202 screens currently in 33 states in the United States, and internationally.

ACTOR (A Commitment To Our Roots.) Comic Fund exists because many Golden Age or Silver Age creators toiled in comics' earlier years for low pay and with a nonexistent pension plan. Very often, writers would work for a penny a word, or artists for $5 a page with no chance of ownership or pension. Many of these people who laid the groundwork that today's comic industry is based on may be in financial need. Be it due to age, health, low salaries, or with no retirement plan, these individuals need assistance. ACTOR provides a safety net for former comic creators in need. ACTOR is dedicated to helping creators with emergency medical aid, financial support for life essentials, and an avenue back into employment.

If I'd have known about this earlier I would have gone, but I've got other plans.
