The action figure is fun. It's a start.

    ok, thanks!

However I was hoping for either the shiny red chinease outfit she wore near the middle of the movie on the balcony in the party... when the green goblin made his first appearance to spider man. That outfit was so pretty... but I just can't find any good pictures of it!
I also liked the one in the spider exhibit with the green sweater like thing, but I can't get a good picture of the shirt she wears, or pants either. ARG! :)

    Any help would be great!

The action figure is of the red Asian dress.

There's a 12" doll of it too. Of course, I'd check it against the movie. But you can find those all over Chinatowns and stuff.

Here's a pic of the doll (or "1:6 scale figure" if you're a self-conscious guy).

Without getting banned, I am going to make a joke -

Mary Jane? Try the plastic surgeon!! lol (c'mon folks, you KNOW what scenes I mean!!)

All kidding aside, the red asian print dress is pretty common and should be easy to find.

    Ok....
Doing research I believe the dress she wears is called a cheongsam... it appears to be a very common (and really cool) chinease/asian dress. One problem: they don't have pictures of the back! Unless the dress has been modified from its origional mary jane like state. ARG :) Does anyone know how the fold (it crosses from the neckline and goes presumably to the back...) does anyone know how it fold?? Like, here's a picture of the back of mary jane's dress (mostly)

    ok, and here's the front...

see the crossover? I can't see where it ends...
here's a picture of the side of the dress, the best I could find.

also, it appears like there is a ornate flower brooch that is keeping the top on... it is gold and very large, on the front picture you can see it pretty well.

in this picture you can see a slit on one side... I think they are on both...

any thoughts? The construction of this one is easy, but understanding the shape is another matter... especially when they don't take as nice of promo pics as star wars does, but that is another story! :)

There is actually a Simplicity pattern that my girlfriend used to make her Dark Leia dress. If you research the website I am sure you'll find it.
