Spiderman 3

i know the soundtrack with various artists will be out may 1st but does anyone know when the original score will be released?

 

I'm really hoping they use some of the trailer music from the teaser (attached to Supes) and trailer (attached to Bond)

 

so no one has heard if the score itself will be released?

 

I wish I knew. For Spiderman 2, the soundtrack came out about a month after the music CD. So maybe they're doing the same.

 

According to jwfan.com forum member, the movie is temp tracked to death, with only 15 minutes or so of Young's score.

 

I really like the symbiote and Sandman themes. Its pretty cool.

But yeah, I want them to release a score, regardless of how temp-tracked it may be.

I saw S3 today. Awesome. I virtually couldn't tell it wasn't Danny for most of the movie, the original themes were stuck to tightly and sounded great. The action scenes were particularly good.

I really hope the score is released as with the previous two. It should sound great.

 

The Sandman's theme rocks. Very broody/ominous.

 

It reminds me of something you'd hear in a monster movie, which is cool.

 

But the symbiote theme sounded like a theme from a cheesy 50's horror movie.

 

There's far more Young material in this than people are saying but definitely a good amount of tracked music as well. Gotta say, I thought the music was decent for the most part, although I still really wish Elfman had scored it.

The most memorable musical moment for me was the Sandman's transformation, which was also my favorite scene in the movie.

Yeah, I was gonna say that last night, but I was sleepy.

And the Sandman is something of a monster. Just not in the usual way.

 

Very dull score. Most of the good moments were the reprises of Elfman's themes. I liked the "Venom" part of the Main Titles and the music for the second fight between Peter and Harry, though.

 

Sandman's theme is the highlight of this score.

But as someone has been asking earlier, does anyone know when the score will be released?

There are plans to release the score. No known date yet.

 

Just got home from seeing it. The score was... bad, compared to the first two. I didn't get anywhere near the same feeling watching this as I did on the first two. What I got really, REALLY upset about was the opening theme. I wanted to stand up and scream! It lacked the intensity! I'm so disappointed.

But, I'm not saying it was too bad a score. I liked it, although I didn't like it. But I'll definately buy it when released.

 

I loved the symbiote theme:

duh duh duh duh Duh DUH.

 

Part3 is really disappointing including everything the charm is not intact maybe this is my personal thought...

 

After seeing the movie, I didn't think the music was that great. It was one of the few soundtracks for a movie that I don't really 'hear'. Sure I hear it, but I don't think about as I think about it the way a soundtrack like Pirates for example.

Rating (from just watching movie): 6/10

 

Christopher Young has some clips of the score on his http://www.chrisyoung-filmmusic.info/start.htm]web site. The "Main Titles" cue is also floating around on bootlegs. It's good, but the performance and mix are no match for Elfman's. Young's new material in it is pretty good.

The FSM guys have a new podcast about these scores. Pretty interesting stuff, especially the Elfman interview.

 

I still can't find any signs of a score release...
