I think there are a few strong characters for a spin-off from PT,OT who can hold their own. I can see Han Solo, Bobba Fett, Yoda, Obi-Wan would be great and don't have to tie into VII. I would also love to see a Darth Bane trilogy, The Old Republic at different periods showing Darth Revan, Exar Kun etc.

I'd like to see a KOTOR trillogy or two, a Jango Fett movie, and a Darth Maul movie.

Jori Daragon during the Great Hyperspace War. Jori's not a villain and it would be a chance to develop the war.

I really think Darth Bane should be used. I'm not a big EU fan, but the Darth Bane trilogy has a special place in my heart. Great stuff.

I don't think the Star Wars universe mirrors the Marvel Universe, but the more I think about it, the more I believe that they should. The sequel trilogy would remain the "main episodes" and the spinoffs should take a character or 2 from the sequel trilogy and give them a sort of side-adventure which chronologically takes place in between the main sequel trilogy episodes and even ties in a little.

I just think that would work so much better than anything else I have seen suggested. It's certainly working pretty well for Marvel Studios.

Cool! Which others? If it's true that Vancouver is set up as a Mecca for sci-fi tv, this is a great sign!

I'd like to see a heist film set just before ANH, explaining what Lando was referring to when he condemned Han for "what you pulled" :

It's hard to imagine anyone else playing our beloved Han and Lando, of course, but on the other hand...

and when they see it's about some bounty hunter, they're going to say, "This isn't Star Wars. We've been scammed!"

It's truly a double standard to say, "episode vii must have something because the average person expects it in star ears" and then advocate that a spin-off without that something call itself "Star Wars".

I've read that Disney aim to put out one Star Wars movie a year, which I took to mean that they alternate between saga, and spin off. Shame - I wouldn't mind a marvel type approach where they have a few spin offs coming out simultaneously in the same year, then all weave into one big blockbuster movie.

And also the saga every two years

I wonder what GL's history of the Sith (not to be confused with the canon history of the Sith) is nowadays.

    We know the following:
-The Mandalorians stole the darksaber during "the fall of the Old Republic."
-the Sith once "ruled the galaxy"
-"Long have Sith empires been built on the backs of slaves".
-Moraband was "abandoned after many wars."
-Darth Bane created the Rule of Two in response to infighting and Yoda knows it.
-"The Sith have been extinct for a millenium."

New interview where Simon Kinberg discusses the spin offs, possible EU influence & canon:

I have a feeling we'll get a release date for the first spin off soon. If it's coming out in 2016 or 17 then they'll have to secure a release date soon before the best dates are taken by other blockbusters.

How about an Exar Kun movie? Exar Kun is a badass who wielded a double saber before it was cool and commanded awesome creatures.

Exar would be an antagonist, not a protagonist.
