I just realized that if there is indeed a part 7 we're gonna get a lot more noobs here...
Sorry, one tends to hold a grudge when a corporation like Disney mutliates a part of one's childhood like Disney did with remastering the early Power Ranger eps.
That was the first name that came to my mind.
DUDE, it'll be like your first experience with new SW movie n00bs!
Lucas has been a multi-billionaire for quite some time. But it was a bit illiquid. Now, he has 2 billion in cash and is a major Disney shareholder, behind Steve Jobs' widow, of course, since Pixar sold to Disney for almost twice as much as Lucasfilm.
Star Wars, Episode 7. 2015
Tenzin said best when he said "What."
Amazed. Shocked, Dumbfounded. Speechless. You name it, I'm it right now.
Hey, if the new films are even half as good as AOTC, that's enough reason for me to get excited.
I guess this means that the JCC will continue to live forever.
I can't wait for Star Wars on Ice!
It's now time to do away with WNU... we don't need the inevitable influx of noobs trained in the art of pillow fights and bad posting.
Oh my God, this means these boards will never go under and we'll all have to keep posting here forever.
Yes, how dare they tamper with something so renowned and high quality as Power Rangers
As mentioned, based on the precedents of Pixar and Marvel, one would have to assume that Lucasfilm will remain fairly autonomous. I wonder if Lucas will appoint someone else to oversee it, though, and just stay a figurehead. That's the only chance these films might have.
Yes, the new film will bring new users, and they're going to bring us posts, and new threads, and SMITE OUR ENEMIES!
I bet they were waiting for the JC to move to Xenforo before making the announcement. It all makes sense now.
Make it happen.
This is exciting news.
I welcome our new Disney overlords!

SJ: Kathleen Kennedy is taking it over.
All a coordinated effort to allow the Star Wars community to live on.
Maybe it's not a 'tv classic' Like Star Trek or Star Wars, but it was part of my childhood and I took offense to Disney adding sixties Batman style fighting effects to the MMPR eps. If I want to see 'Wham' and 'Bam' in my TV fighting, I'll watch the Adam West Batman thank you very much.
Well......this is random.
I thought this was actually a fake extract joke for the tl;dr crowd.
Welp, there goes the EU.
just never mind...
And so the Disney financial empire keeps growing. At this rate wonder how long until they buy DC too (or maybe the entire Warner Brothers but that's unlikely... for now at least).
Oh well, more Star Wars rides at the Disney theme parks might be fun, if I ever go back there (haven't even seen Star Tours II yet). I'm kind of dreading Episode VII now. The poor EU. Hm, now that I think about it, Lucasfilm was already restrictive with their DVD releases (will they ever re-release the good Clone Wars mini-series?) so that fits in fine with Disney's strategy, just that Disney has enough classics to only release once a decade or so. I forget if the Star Wars movies DVDs are still even in print (Blu-ray, but haven't paid attention to regular DVD for a while).
