I'm interested to see what Nicolas Winding Refn will do with the Logan's Run remake, if that actually happens. Logan's Run was one of the last great pre-1977 sci fi movies, right before Star Wars came along and changed everything. I'd potentially put him in charge of a Star Wars movie, as long as Ryan Gosling isn't in it.

Oh god, I really can't say I'm looking forward to a sequel trilogy. There's just been no suitable villains after Palpatine, Vader and the Empire that would justify making more films. The Yuuzhan Vong might qualify...but the NJO really cannot be crammed into a trilogy.

 

They'll go The Hobbit route and make three movies per book. They're good for Episodes VII - LXIII this way.

 

They could pull an EU and bring back the Emperor.

I don't think it would work so well, but it could be done

Important in hinting that Ford Fisher & Hamill have been asked about coming back for ages and that discussions were positive. Lucas seemed to backtrack on confirming whether or not any OT actors would appear which suggests they probably are and Disney & Lucasfilm are waiting to announce it.
