Mark Hamill said in an interview that Lucas had contacted him some time before the sale to Disney to say that he had been working on sequels and to ask if Hamill was interested.


And as angry-Diggy pointed out, there apparently were old treatments for an ST back in the late 70s and early 80s, but those went out the window when Lucas decided to wrap up the story in ROTJ.

You just have to assume banthas eat their own ****.

 

I thought about reacting to the "news" from Lucas. And then I realized ... really, no matter what news comes out about this, come December, I'm going to be sitting in a theater and when the Star Wars logo comes on the big screen again, I'm going to be excited like a little boy again, and a little bit of pee might come out.

And I'm not the only one.

And Disney knows it.

Looks like Strange Magic is going to flop hilariously. Almost no promotion whatsoever.

 

It's an odd one. Like they were obligated to give it a theatrical release, but don't really want to.

 

Making Star Wars makes a pretty good point about what Lucas even means by hhis comments on Disney "rejecting" his treatments:
