I read the whole thing that harps posted, and to be honest it seems to be a Terminator/Into Darkness type rehash. Basically an ANH/ESB remix. Hope it's incorrect.

Why the close-up of the four officers/two troopers?

 

To try & get an idea of who is in charge. Apart from Kylo Ren we know almost nothing about who leads the First Order. And Kylo presumably has a Master/Apprentice we've yet to see

Yeah, apparently she's (in a way) the Boba Fett of the trilogy. She's obsessed with hunting down Finn, because she was his officer and he deserted. I like characters having their own personal nemesis.

- and yeah, "remix" seems to be the appropriate word for the film. The same could be applied to KOTOR. I have mixed feelings.

I also love the flametrooper armour. I'd totally join the Empire to wear one of those suits.
