SPOILERS!!! Entertainment Weekly Reviews Clone Wars Season 2

Entertainment Weekly has a mini review of the 2nd season of Clone Wars in the newest issue and here's what they had to say.

There is a major SPOILER so you've been warned.

Star Wars: Clone Wars (Cartoon Network, TV-Y7-SV)The intergalatic animated "micro-series" is back with 10 new installments begining tonight. The second batch is once again heavy on the action and among the things you'll be treated to are Obi-Wan dressed as a stromtrooper, Mace Windu running around much faster then Samuel Jackson could ever hope to do, lots of people saying "I've got a bad feeling about this." and - most intriguingly - Anakin picking up a red lightsaber for the very first time. (Concludes April 8) B+

 

Anakin picking up a red lightsaber!?!?!!!! Oh the implications of that. Will he keep it for EPIII?

 

I strongly doubt he'll be keeping it for Episode 3.

Wow...we hadn't heard this before.

I think it's one of Ventress' ligthsabers after they fight. But it sounds VERY intriguing.

yeah i saw a preview on the TV Guide channel,so yes anakin has one of Ventress' lightsabers and they were having quite the battle. looks awesome

 

Yeah, Anakin goes absolutely wild while battling Ventress. They fight across Yavin 4, through the tree tops, and Anakin gets angrier and angrier. His clothes get torn to shreds, and he winds up duelling with Ventress atop a cliff. He disarms her, then battles her with one red sabre, attacking her like Luke attacks Vader in ROTJ. Shes on her knees, and the cliff overhanf that Ventress is on breaks away and she falls to her death into a huge abyss. Then Anakin lets out a huge roar of anger and triumph. It's awesome.

 

Falls to her PRESUMED death.

Yeah, true, but they've gotta knock her off somewhere. And seeing GG is introed in the next episode, it makes sense to kill her off.

Unless she had an interesting character arc going in the Jedi Trial book coming out in 2005, leading into Episode III and meeting up with Anakin again...

Ventress can not die as some of the comics she's in take place at a later date.

 

If you go to starwars.com and read the EU on Anakin, it says that that he repulsed her, not killed her. So she survives and she puts her two lightsabers together to form one like Darth Maul. So I would be surprised if she lost one of them. I'm sure she can build a new one, but I would be cool if he got hold of one of them for part of the battle and used it against her, that would be awesome.
