Ahhh srorry StarDude I must have had a senior moment. Probably when I was reviewing the thread while replying I confused, or more like merged you comment about official date with Darth_Paul19 mention of 2004.

Me bad.

I just got back from X2. Attached to it was a trailer for "Hollywood Homicide," Harrison Ford's new movie. It's not what you expect. It definitely looks more like a comedy (A hilarious one in which Ford will shine).

Anyway, after seeing it I realized that Harrison Ford could play Indy just as good as he did 20 years ago. Just give him the fedora.

I've had this idea that would make a great IJ movie. The relic he is hunting for is a ancient egyptian portal. When Indy messes with it it sends him back in time to around the time of ROTLA. The nazis have discovered the second of three portals and are planning to use theirs to go back into time to rule the world. I know it has a kinda of stargate feel to, but without the space travel.

Well is there anything else about the artwork? Could be a hoax, could be discarded artwork for the Indy game, who knows. I would like a bit more info or confirmation before going wild over speculations.

From The Indy Experienc

John Rhys-Davies spills the beans:

We were talking to the actor, who played the whip-crackin' archaeologist's Egyptian pal Sallah in Raiders Of The Lost Ark and Indiana Jones And The Last Crusade, at last night's BAFTA Awards when the conversation turned to the fourth film in the Harrison Ford-starring series.

Despite joking at first that "everyone's spoken to me about Indiana Jones IV except the people who employ me," Davies then possibly said a bit too much when we asked him if he'd like to work on the flick.

"I'd love to do it but if it's set in China then there may be no place for me," he replied.

-------------------------------------

China? Hopefully this movie won't go the same route as the Temple of Doom did.

"China? Hopefully this movie won't go the same route as the Temple of Doom did."

It may very well go the same route if GL intends Indiana Jones to go through this

Biblical (RotLA)
Eastern Religion/intrigue (ToD)
Biblical (LC)
Eastern religion/intrigue (Indy IV??)

pattern. :D

--

And there is one other thing. Perhaps there are major spoilers to be had by watching episodes of the Young Indiana Jones television show. Remember how they showed Old Indiana Jones in a handful of scenes? He had an eyepatch.

I'm sure that Indiana Jones IV will be his last adventure, perhaps this is where he loses an eye.

I for one liked the Temple of Doom and wouldn't mind at all seeing a non-biblical relic, I think it would be better. Be a little more inclusive.

I don't know if this has been said, but I think Indy should have a kick butt daugher by Marion to mentor. Think about how cool a girl with parents like that has got to be? He should definantly play his age, but that won't prevent him from being awesome and taking active part in the adventures.

There should be young blood no matter what they do.

I dunno. Kids & Spielberg. They tend to dominate the show, if you know what I mean.

Well if anyone can direct kids it's Spielberg. And he could take it to another level like on AI.

No, not a kid. A grown up daughter. Harrison's way old enough to have one don't you think?

Besides, in Goonies, Speilberg only directed one or two scenes with the kids, choosing to direct the adults.

I think it should be a son like Lucas said. I imagine the son being much like Sean Connery's character and also rebellious towards Indy. But at the end of the movie he ends up appreciating his dad.

Plus a son would be better. You'd have three generations of Jones guys. And I don't want to have another Tomb Raider.

I'd prefer just Indy & his dad, and none of Indy's possible offspring to appear.

I'm with you Friend_of_Skylark, IF he has a child (as a young adult like 21) it should be daughter. If it were a son it'd be redundent and a rip off of Last Crusade. The daughter could be the girl of the movie.

How could a movie be a rip-off of its own series?

Give him a son.

Only One Son in Indy 4, Ford tells Chicago Sun Times
Harrison Ford told columnist Cindy Pearlman the fourth installment will not feature Indy training his screen son, as a way to keep the franchise going. Ford said, "There's only one son in these movies and I'll always be Sean Connery's little boy!"

Still, that report is almost a year old, so things can change (though I really hope they do not in this case).

OK not a ripoff it would be redundent. The daughter could be someone who thinks her dad is boring until she goes on an adventure with him.

Or just doesn't appreciate how cool he is, thinks his ideas are old fashioned and boring.

When would it take place if he did have a daughter? 1960's? Who was the US fighting then, Vietnam? Or would it be the early 60's before Vientnam? Then there'd be no super power to struggle with. Maybe Russia, and they're after some famous artifact that's relivent to both Western and Russian culture. Was the USSR even into preserving the past?
