Ok, I've decided to purchase our domain name and web hosting through Brian Golly, our web designer at work, he's offering us hosting for a year for $100 dollars... a dynamite price! and he accepts cash payments! I should have the site started in the next few days! I'll keep you all posted.

 

Awesome man! Can't wait to see it. Keep us updated on the progress.

 

Ok! after a few hit-and-misses, the website is up! partially anyway... two pages, the index and the news page, I haven't got the "Newsnet Terminal" working yet, so I can't actually display news text yet... but rest assured that will be done soon, but right now I have to get back to work...

Uh, so Brian at work and I have noticed some issues with the website and some browsers, things not displaying properly, let me know if it's not displaying right for you, and if so what browser (Internet Explorer, Netscape, Safari, FireFox, etc...) so that we can troubleshoot the problem better, oh and include what type of PC you're using (IBM or Mac) Thanks. I should have at least one more page up today...

 

Nope, it displays just fine, which is odd as we all know my reputation with technology

Not only did Brian and I solve the problem, but I also got the forum page up how's that for productivity! Now, for all of you who access these forums on a public computer, just go to www.thespokantina.com and click on FORUMS, then click on the back of the Ithorian dude! These forums will pop up in a new window, IT'S THAT SIMPLE!!!

well, not really impossible, but let me explain my decision for highlighting both of them. It's a forum... of people *more than one* conversing, I figured it would make more sense to have two people talking highlighted, rather than one person... if that makes ANY sense at all...

Looks great!... But when I used the "Members" or "Gallery" links, I got directed to their file directories.

 

Yeah, I've only gotten as far as FORUMS... the rest will get done eventually... when I have content for them.

 

Ok, the news section has been updated, nothing new really, just nice to finally have it on a site

Ok, I know the site's not even finished yet, but I think I'd like to re-design it. What do you guys think? I'd like to make it more "user friendly" and allow for more content and make it easier to update...

 

By more user friendly what do you mean?
It's relatively easy to naviagate, it looks neat and it's unique.
The only possible suggestion that I can think of is placing links in the actual home page cantina picture.

Basically I'd like to make it more... I don't know, I'll do my best to get a temp page up of the new design I'm building, and I'll let you guys decide...

 

Ok, BIG update to the site! It's in a Flash format now, the pages may take a second to load... all but one of the menu links is working, and I'm hoping to get them all working by the end of the day!

The members section is up, I did my best to put everyone up there, if there's someone I forgot, or someone's up there who shouldn't be, let me know. Also, each member will have a small section devoted to info on them, so I'll need to collect some info from you guys! I'll need...

You most likely don't have flash installed, go to macromedia.com and get the free flash player...

 

This version of the site is just a temporary version of what I'd like to do, the final version would include animations, and possibly even sound effects. What do you think? do you like this version, or would you rather have the old site back?

I'm not sure what I think yet.
I honestly liked the original because it felt original, but I like the actual screenshots there as well.
I will say that I'm not liking the members page. The icons with screen names are fine, but the arrangement doesn't look good.
Hm, let me sleep on it.
