Of course, we all know the Evil Stepmother was a Sith.

Guess it's a "re imagining" of the story.

The original folk tale probably was... childrens stories were a lot more twisted back then...

Once again, where does it say that this is a picture of the Star Wars VII set?

The news report. Nothing official though so feel free to be skeptical.

The presence of an AT-AT foot is all the confirmation I need.

It may be 100% confirmed Star Wars, but does that really prove it's Episode VII? It could be some Disney Channel promo or one of those commercials where R2 pimps products, right?

I picture three multiracial 8-year olds playing with some props or CGI creatures in the sand, hugging R2-D2, maybe shooting off some Star Wars-themed Nerf guns or shilling for a mobile game. Then, just as the Disney logo comes up, there's a line of fine print saying "Paid for in part by Abu Dhabi Media Capital, Inc." But we won't see it, because we'll all be going, "OMFG WAS THAT A WALKER FOOT!?"

I wonder if this is just disinformation, a picture sent out to get all of us in a hizzy while the real props, etc, are kept from sight.

Even if it can not be confirmed as a EpVII related info, at least its so exciting to have some new discussions around. Can only imagine what could it be when they decide to announce the title or confirming some cast.

Well done with the detective work on the ATAT foot, i'm buying it, and assuming that is true i would be so glad about getting this kind of things rather than green screens for CGI. The many things they build, the closer we will be to the original concept of the SW saga.

Why are we so certain it's a foot? It could be a hand? Everyone loses a hand in Star Wars

Agreed. It's the first news to really get excited about and open the flood gates of speculation. It's becoming fun to be a Star Wars fan again. Let the good times roll :)

Well, it's been 30+ years since ROTJ, maybe the Hutts destroyed the Imperial invaders, it didn't had to be the Rebels

I'd recommend checking out the Practical Effects in the Prequels thread if you think there weren't elaborate sets, models, etc. in the PT.

Yep, there were more miniatures and models built for just one of the PT movies (take your pick of the three) than there were for the entire OT combined.

Was not thinking they were more or less elaborate. My comment was in the way of getting pieces of info about constructed sets than a pic of a pair or actors walking in a green room, because i prefer that kind of stuff. In my opinion the PT abused of the use of CGI instead of "real" sets. That allowed them to show awesome stuff and backgrounds that I really enjoyed, but Geonosis or Kamino could be shown in a more "authentic" version. But with this im not saying they should not use the tech. Just a personal opinion.

Is just about a personal preference

This is the most exciting part for me. A gravy indication that JJ will be using sets with props and not just blue screens. A much better technique IMO

Right, but a lot of the photos in that Practical Effects thread were spy photos that show off constructed sets. There's no way Abrams is going to make a Star Wars film without extensive use of CGI, maybe even (like Geonosis or Kamino) planets wholly constructed with CGI. What I'm trying to say is that the appearance of what looks like an AT-AT foot on the Episode VII set isn't some shift away from how the PT was made because props, sets, etc. like that were present for those films, too.

wow. I always thought practical effects were minimal for the PT. This is an eye-opener.
