    Do not mock the squirrels, for they possess the power of the joystick.

    i was in the car the other week and there was a squirrel in the middle of the road that had been run over, but was still alive. I can still see its paw waving at me. I think it has traumatized me for life, and I just know that the car behind me probably splattered it further. :(

    In that case, the best thing to do is reverse and finish the job

    ED: Does anyone remember those cool ads with the squirrels running that assault course to the Mission Impossible theme?

    Aw man, thats dreadful.

    Something similar happened to me and it traumatised me...

    I was driving to work (in Glasgow) under a bridge and a wee baby chick fell out of its nest onto the road. It must have been days old cuz it didnt have any down yet.

    It was twitching and then a car ran over it.

    I was distraught all day.

    No way, I could never run it over. I would get blood all over the tyres and the squirrel might haunt me forever. I should have picked it up of the street and taken it to hospital around the corner

    I feel for you Nemco, I really do. I remember one night when I was driving home at about half four in the morning in my old man's car so I was going pretty fast. I turned this corner and there was about 90 rabbits on the road. Of course, Andy tries to be like that car advert with the crabs and avoid them all, but there was this one that couldn't move and it got twatted straight away. I felt so bad for doing that, puir wee thing

    Where it would have died anyway... better to end it's suffering. The number of times my mum has picked up road-kill with noble intentions and just prolonged it's agony... it's not nice, but it's the best thing most of the time.

    LOL!!! Nemco - I know that's not funny. It was the 'waving paw' that did it...

    // snorts behind hand

    I do know how you feel. The only thing I've ever run over ever, is a squirrel...it popped and I had flashbacks for weeks.

    when I was ickle, I found a wounded house sparrow. It couldn't fly and its leg was mangled. So I got my mum to telephone the RSPB and come to collect it. Whilst waiting for them, I decided to give the wee little bird a bath using the garden hose. Unfortunately, the cold water bath didn't help and killed the bird.
