    Jedi Girl,
I finally was able to hook up with Scott Hawkins. One heckuva guy. Turns out that his place is about three minutes away from my place. Anyway, he informed me that the 501st has a spot in the St Patricks Day Parade. Next Saturday at noon (I think) in Old Colorado City. I don't know how many troopers will be there, but I know there will be at least two. You should try to make it.

Wow, cool. I don't know if I have the guts to be in a parade. (too chicken ;) plus my costume isn't finished yet) But I'll definetly try to be in the crowd. I'll try and stick out enough for you to know who I am.

Scott is a pretty nice guy isn't he? Have you met with others of the 501st here in town?

Yea, I am pretty gutless myself. That's why the costumes I make involve a helmet. I have some more work to do on it though. All the velcro on my costume needs to be sewn on. I got the sticky-back kind and it is already coming off. I finally got my sewing machine in the shop. I also got a new pair of boots on the way.

I haven't met any of the local members yet. For that matter, I haven't met any members at all with the exception of Scott. I have contacted some frequently enough that I would consider them friends (like Jeff "studiocreations"), but have not met up with them yet.

Scott did give me a who's who in Colorado and there are a few. I will get to meet them next weekend. As far as I know, I will be the only Scout in the parade.

I am also scheduled to go to Houston for the Magic of Myth exhibit. I will get to meet some the Star (Texas) Garrison then.

    JG,
I got some good news and some bad news. The good news is there are going to be about a dozen troopers in the parade. The bad news is I misunderstood, and the parade we are marching in is actually in Denver, not in Old Colorado City. I am totally bummed, because I already told the people at work to look for us (and tape it, if it is televised).

    Sorry,
    -FP

    Aww that bites :p

Well I may actually be up in Denver that weekend but the thing is I'll be modeling my hair(or what will be left of it once the stylists gets through with it).

Is this one going to be televised? Then I could tape it and look for you guys.

As far as I know the parade begins at 10, but I have no clue where it's gonna be. I hope this works with your schedule.

Hair modeling, huh? Would you belive that I volenteered to do that like 15 years ago for Supercuts. That was one of the most nerve-racking things that I have ever done. I couldn't wear a helmet then. We didn't win, but my stylist did buy me a new outfit for them. MC Hammer pants!, but that might be before your time.

I don't know if it will be televised. I remember seeing a local Christmas parade on TV last year, but I would assume that Denver's might just be telecast in Denver. I will try to find out.

Good luck with the whole hair thing!!!

I know who MC Hammer is, he wore those big parachute pants :)

Well I hope I can catch the parade on TV. Good luck and tell me how it turns out!

I watched the parade on the WB. I was about ready to shoot the commentators because they showed them more than the actual parade.

They actually interviewed a Klingon and then they said, "oh and look at the stormtroopers." and that was all I saw. :p

Next year I'll be Princess Leia and be in the parade with you guys.

Geez, it doesn't sound like we got much airtime. I know the parade was broadcast in Denver but I didn't think it was going to be shown here.

We actually marched with the Klingons in the parade and partied with them afterwards. Ironically, they were really cool people.

I saw what the weather was like here before we left and when we got home. I am so glad I was in the Denver one. It was overcast and a little chilly, but at least the roads were dry.

If you are going to be Princess Leia marching with a bunch of Stormtroopers, you realize that you are going to have be our prisoner. I'll try to find some "binders". ;)

How did the hair modeling thing go?

The people never called me :p Oh well.

I know that if I do go as Leia I would have to wear binders, but that doesn't really bother me. Personally I think it would be neat to have the Troopers 'escorting' Leia. ;)

The weather here was terrible. I was driving around up on Powers and I couldn't see more than 20 feet in front of me. I had to get my dad to come get me because I didn't want to drive. On the way back we say about five cars wrecked and one pickup flipped over

I watched the news that night and the top stories all revolved around the horrendous weather. They showed a bunch of wrecks, and did the "cold weather reporting for accidents" reminder.

Doing the escorting was pretty fun. A few of the Klingons had drums and another was working the crowd with a ferret he kept in a pouch on his belt. If they were taking too much time working the crowd, a trooper would step up and make them "move along".

I think the whole Leia thing would be great. You could bust out and run towards the crowd playing up the whole "Help me" routine before being re-captured. If you ever read the novels, I think Leia was 16 during ANH.

I think she was in that age range. The only problem is I think she was shorter than me. But if there are a bunch of big tall strong ;) Troopers around there shouldn't be a problem.

I saw the Klingon with the Ferret on TV. They showed a close up of him. Are the they refered to as The 501st Klingons?

I don't know about tall. You can see from the pics that Scott is about a half a head taller than me, but I think our height differences complimented each other.

I recently found out the Klingons belong to a worldwide organization called the "KAG" and the local faction is "House Veska". The Trooper Lionel is good friends with a lot of them.

I think Scott is slightly taller than me. I just know that Leia is kinda short. Oh well I should just try not to think too hard sometimes :p

Well then that would make you about as tall as me. So would that make me a "little short for a stormtrooper" or you tall for a space princess?
