Yes, it is a bit glaring that Fel's story is never resolved, especially with the great setup provided in The Making of Baron Fel.

I never got why they never published a novel or a comic about post-X-Wing adventures of Roan Fel.
I know he and his sons appeared in the NJO novels, but I am talking about a novel/comic in which Fel does not just make a 'cameo' appearance.

I fear that even if it was released, the complaints about Fel as "Stackpole & Zahn's pet character" and about Thrawn appearing in yet another Zahn story, would overshadow the work somewhat.

No. No one would hear any complaints because I would ban anyone who complained. PUBLISH IT LFL.

Generally speaking, those complaints are barely a drop in the lake in comparison to how much joy would be caused in finally getting that story published.

I don't want to go into this too much, as I have a big long rant about it planned for next month's Vision of the Future thread, but I'm convinced that LFL & Del Rey have some kind of ill-conceived ban on using Baron Fel in anything, ever, at all. Dark Journey and Refugee slipped through the cracks. More on this soon.

Wouldn't surprise me, as it fits with the whole making bad guy soldiers seem like good people that LFL is not known for.

Yes please, I got the omnibuses of the first two this year and read many of the stories for the first time. I love this series, I think the final part of The Rebel Opposition was the first Star Wars comic I ever read(the artwork grabbed my attention) followed by In the Empire's Service and Battleground:Tatooine. I still own those issues...a part of me wishes I had all the individual issues.

So I've also now read the Rogue Leader miniseries by Haden Blackman. It was alright, and had fairly decent art. I'm not sure I like how Ten Numb was pretty unceremoniously killed off, but otherwise the story was pretty fun. It was also cool seeing Luke in the contest as Rogue Leader.

I really couldn't get into the art, to be honest. The characters all looked off and the overall feel wasn't right. But I do agree about Ten Numb. I was bummed that after being in EU purgatory for decades that he was simply used so that there was a death outside of the Core Four. Also, the Fleet Junkie in me was not impressed with the artists portrayal of capital ships. Everything, from the Mon Cal cruisers, to ISD, to escort frigates all just seemed strange. And way off scale.

MMMMMM this series was GOOD! my favourite arcs would be pretty much the same as you other guys (Phantom Affair, In The Empire's Service, Mandatory Retirement.) Empire's Service in particular was great cause it gave lip service to Y-Wings at least for me anyways. This was also one the first Star Wars series to make the galaxy feel like a lived in place with its own modern culture what with all the talk of space-bands and civilian life.

I would it if they decided to publish a comic/novel in which the Rogue Pilots would have to face off against a more experienced Phennir or against Maarek Stele...
