Star by Star- What did you think? (spoilers included)

It makes money, but it also makes the fans angry. If it weren't for the desire to see the tale to it's completion, I think most people would've just given up by now.

And, yes, Will, there are a lot of WoT fans out there.

 

The reason I started reading the WoT was because Book 9's cover looked cool .

 

I've read books because of the cover art. But sometimes I find that they suck. "Never judge a book by its cover."

 

Personally, I hate WoT's cover art. Daryl Sweet is quite possibly the worst major fantasy artist. The only WoT cover I like is my Eye of the World cover, and it's not the regular one, but a special "Introductory" issue with a teal cover.

 

I didn't finish Eye of the World. but I read the first chapter of SbS. Already it's a pretty dark book.

 

No kidding. I have a feeling that intill the last couple books, there will be alot of death and shat. sucks but...whatever

 

I think Star by Star was definitely one of the darkest books. You get a true sense of how screwed the Republic is. Anakin's death bites I was looking forward to his character development. I think drawing Jaina to the dark side is a good gamble but it shouldn't have been at Anakin's expense.

I think this might be the darkest, the ESB of the NJO. The series is half over, so it's got to get better towards the end. Right?

 

Who knows. Maybe the Vong will completly take over, kill EVERYONE, and SW will be about Vong.

 

Or no more books about the after years, just the pre-years.

I just can't imagine into the future...like when Han, Luke, Leia, etc. are gone.

One thing they should do is to try and update all of the Essential Guides.

 

Oh, I can imagine all the current ones dying off, just not in one series.

 

Okay, here's my take on the book. I agree that it's by far the best NJO book, though that's not always saying much. I got it on the day it came out and would have read it in a very short amount of time, but had life intervene. I made the mistake, however, of reading Anakin's death, and Luke and Leia and Han's reactions just before I had to go to an orchestra rehearsal. Now you may say that's not a mistake, but the problem is that I was moved by the writing and the worst thing was that our orchestra played the Star Wars theme for last year's concert. So when I got to having to play the Princess Leia theme in the middle of the theme, I remembered Leia and feeling Anakin's death and just started bawling. Loved the "That woman could talk a Hutt onto a diet" line, the speech to the Republic, the taking of Coruscant, and a lot more.

 

lol. That is an awesome score though.

 

Right now, I'm at the part where Lando is showing of the YVH. Pretty impressive droid.

 

That droid was creepy.

 

They sure are. Cool none the less.

 

The creepy part is that they have Lando's voice.

 

They remind me of the Terminator robots.

Well, I'm about halfway through. I haven't read any today. So far, Anakin was wounded and the New Republic fleet ambushed the Vong in that red star thingy.

 

Another thing, it seems that the Yuuzhan Vong ships are becoming easier to destroy in this book. Is it because of the whole living/dying thing?

 

The NR pilots are becoming better at destoying Vong ships. And the author is different .
