Actually it was phrased the other way round:

"Too bad a Victory-class Destroyer could fight her to a standstill"

but that was the point I was thinking of- that the two are close in power- it's not a massive mismatch.

Though in the end it will boil down to skills, tactics and little luck anyway.

Ugh. I'd rather have another battle station. Needn't blow up planets or anything, just some cool, scaled-down version.

I think I saw a reference to Lucas actually saying this battle could have occured earlier in the war than the one in ESB. Funny how people quoted him on "fun, doesn't have to follow canon" but not THAT quote. ;)

I guess the "DS3" could always be some random Torpedo Sphere. I always hated them but hey, this time they could be narratively useful.

Pfft. The only use they had was letting you reuse the Death Star Technical Companion. :p

two habitation spheres... like two Eye of Palpatine?

ps: the NJO had a search for superweapons subplot to use against Vong invaders... they wondered if there are more Death Stars out there.. more Eyes of Palpatine etc.

That's the symbol of the Open Circle Armada, Sir! Could have kept the red stripes to connect them with Palpatine's offices and his Royal Guard. It's symbolic.
Besides, they're not outdated, they're 20+ years old at most. I see no problem with Palpatine keeping them there, perhaps even in reserve. The Galactic Empire surely can afford some excess. Maybe they're even TIE flight schools like EGTW mentioned, on parade like those cadets in The Ghost Prison? Trial by fire, indeed. Maybe the Moffs brought some of their private defense fleets to a gathering?

We really should in this case. [face_peace]

I'm a fan of the "Go for it" style of retconning, so I fully support this move. Honestly, there are a lot of really serious, pretentious EU works that have caused a lot more plausibility problems and suspension-of-disbelief-breaking issues for me than Star Tours ever has or could.

Glove of Darth Vader goes through a hyperspace wormhole to Mon Calamari. Everything in that sentence makes my head hurt.

Okay then. Here's a video from Earth system. Looks like our friends had some adventures there!

Thanks to the Disney buyout this could totally be canon. Let's go for it.

it still would be better than Mickey and Co being canon... Muppets at least are cool and rock!

I figured the wormhole in question was created, momentarily, by the DS2's exploding hypermatter reactor.

    This...

... and this. I don't really see what the big deal is that there's an Earth system. It's not like the planet Earth from Star Tours was canonized; really, all we have here is a system that happens to share a name with our real-life planet. We already have people named Mars, and "Earth" has been used in a large number of SW works to refer to the ground of various planets. It's one of the four element. This is no different than if a "Fire system" had been introduced.

Hopefully that involved Imperial propaganda, labeled the behemoth a 'Life Star'.

"Justice Star" was what they picked in ANH Infinities.

One of my pet theory is that "Demon Queen Bavmorda" (Sovereign of Nockmaar, Sorceress Magnific, Primal Priestess of Cults and Covens) was in fact an estranged sister of Charal and the Nightsister known as "She," and that the three of them left Dathomir together during a Jedi intervention circa 120 BBY.

always loved Casus Belli articles and "She"!

add the Galaxies TCG game Nightsister that ended up on a certain iceplanet and you got yourself 4 sisters spread to the 4 corners of the galaxy on 4 planets resembling the 4 elements! Destiny! a holy dathomiri mission to conquer the galaxy using 4 elementary magical worlds in the 4 corners of the galaxy?

PS: Is the Jedi intervention possibly one of Yodas many attempts to get the Chuuntor back that failed?
