    lol!!!!!

She could tell Kashore two words: "shower" and "spock" and the girl would hang up faster than nobody's business. lol!!

I adored this entry - your gal-pal time is always beautifully written, and the Spock/Uhura moments were just so gosh darn cute that it was impossible not to smile while reading. ;) [face_love]

He and I shared nights together spontaneously and frequently, more often during a seven-day interval than not. I too found the mornings when I woke with him beside me quite delightful and enough to set my day off to a splendid start. I set my parcels back down and went to wrap him up in a warm hug.

"I think it's high time we got combined quarters officially." I said softly. "The sooner the better. I can't imagine a superior way to starting and ending my day, every day, than to have you beside me." I blushed and whispered: "And in the shower to boot."

    Entry #17

The mission to the Vulcan colony took place three months into our tour and was a very meaningful milestone professionally and personally. The Enterprise had just finished a routine check-in at Starbase 87 and was then sent to transport a few very high-ranking diplomats to the new Vulcan colony. They had acquired highly priced artifacts that were now made even more priceless by representing all they had held valuable before the destruction of the entire planet.

I saw the way the dignitaries and scientists perused the ancient things ? and also the way that Spock watched them from the corner of his eyes, intrigued, but yet determined not to be.

I asked him if he was curious about visiting the colony, and received only a shrug from him. ?It is not Vulcan,? was all that he said.

The significance laden in those simple words was enough for me to reach out to take his hands in an overtly spontaneous gesture of support.

He squeezed my hands in return once before dropping them to return to his duties.

I watched him very intently for the remainder of the journey, feeling his unease at the back of my mind as if it were my own. If he noticed this concern, he said nothing. Gradually over time, the unease faded.

I wanted to glare at him for the shielding, however unintentional it was; then my sharp annoyance was swept aside in the press of duties that required my undivided attention.

We ended up reaching Vulcan in the early evening. The away party consisted of Spock, the Captain, the scientists and diplomats, and I.

My first impression of the planet as we moved outside of the capital's main compound was that it was brutally hot. While Vulcan had been all hour-glass sands and sweeping tones of red and gold over the harsh yellow sunlight from above, this new planet was just - rough.

There was a bite to the wind that carried dust and ash on it, chafing at my skin and swirling with my breath at the back of my throat. The air was hot ? incredibly stifling in a way that did not cater well to a human's preference of temperature.

The evening light was in hues of deep violet upon burning red, reminding me of the beauty to be found in discordant things once again.

A very dignified guide led us across a small courtyard to a grand set of stairs, leading up to a terrace that was open to the wind sweeping through the low valley in soothing waves. Long, gauzy curtains billowed, spreading the scent of incense and candle smoke from where a few of the elders had been engaging in evening meditations.

The small group of elders rose, and greetings were exchanged. I translated as best I could for Kirk ? the only one not fluent in Vulcan in the room.

The scientists began conversing with a couple Cultural Historians - as implied by the content of their exchange; after a moment, I gave up upon translating when it became apparent that the proceedings were intended for them explicitly.

The remainder of the Elders switched to Standard in respect of the humans amongst them. As the pleasantries continued ? inquiries of the journey and thanks for the help, more of the Elders broke off to converse with their counterparts, leaving Sarek and two others ? a man by the name of Siden, and his bondmate T'Pik ? to converse with our group.

?I understand that your own officers have tests that we were running?? T'Pik was saying.

Spock nodded, answering where he was more cognizant, rather than Kirk. ?Affirmative,? he answered. ?There were further objects recovered from the site previously mentioned, and their discovery can lead to substantial furtherance of our understanding ? enabling restoration of lost art forms in many cases or at least the ability to retain a picture of past eras. Hi all: Thanks for the super comments. :)

A/N: An interlude of sorts at the entries half-time show LOL

    _____

    Interlude #1

At this point in my loving chronicles, I find myself struck afresh by Sarek's acceptance and by the wistful longing that Amanda and I could have embraced one another openly and with the love I know would have come so easily to me. We could have talked over so many richly wonderful treasured moments, a sweet effervescent glory that only lovers bonded mind and heart (literally and figuratively) can know.

    * * *

A touching postscript to my prior entry occurred the day after our departure from New Vulcan.

My dearest one had been pensive all day, thoughtful, though not withdrawn, never from me. I found him on a secluded observation deck and took a brief handful of moments to gaze at him. He was a feast to my eyes at sublight and at warp. I sent an inquiring thought his way, and he reached to grip my hand tightly as I conveyed I was there for anything he wished to share with me.

His sense was composed of a myriad things: fond remembrance, a gentle considering, and a profound tenderness. This last I could tell had to do explicitly with me.

"Contemplating the music of the spheres?" I teased gently.

I could almost hear his wry rejoinder: The theory of the planets and stars being fixed bodies was refuted centuries ago.

I grinned at the whimsical thought and squeezed his hand. His touch was something I loved - akin to warm hearths and tropical beaches.

He reached his free hand to take out a gilded box. "My father gave this to me before we left. This holds his and my mother's marriage rings. Were he to take another bond-mate in the future, he would of course acquire another set."

My heart melted at the gesture. "Ah. So he was rather taken with me then?" I smiled. "I shall have to write and thank him for it."

"Nyota," he ventured after we had watched the lovely starfield in serene and cozy companionship for a moment or two.

    "Yes, my love?" I responded.

"A tour such as ours is fraught with so much uncertainty and missions can turn tragic with unforeseen loss. Furthermore, of necessity, our actual joining will be deferred until it has concluded. Please tell me truthfully if this will be a hardship to you. You are deserving of the deepest happiness, and I am sure that an earlier bonding could be arranged ..." He drew me close, stroking my back and shoulders leisurely.

"I can wait as long as needed, my heart." I whispered--although the idea of an earlier bonding was exhilarating! "And as for the risks, potential and otherwise, it's just more of an incentive to keep safe and sound." I winked, and I then took both of our breaths away in many long kisses.

    * * *

Effervescent glory -- those words describe beautifully all of our mind-touches. One that comes to mind as I write took place a fortnight before we moved in together.

We had successfully completed diplomatic talks on the lovely planet of Alveria. There were cities and a continent spanning ocean and rain forests and mountains. The conclusion of the talks led to a festive celebration, which was a grand opportunity for me to wear a lovely ivory evening gown.

Spock's admiring appraisal of me was all I could wish for, as he swept me into a close embrace for the first dance. (He looked absolutely mouth-watering himself, I thought happily.)

After, we went to a balcony that overlooked a tranquil vista of rivers and hills. Storm clouds were lowering, dappling the skies with grays and pearls in intricate patterns. The shower would be brief and not fraught with lightning. Stars started to twinkle in amongst the clouds and the contrasting effect was lovely.

"How gorgeous." I smiled. "Sunsets and the skies before a rain have always enthralled me."

Spock replied by beginning to expound on the particular and unique facets of the atmosphere and climate lending the view its peculiar richness.

I chuckled softly. "Spock ... it's a great view. Shall we leave it at that?"

    "Yes, indeed, it

A moment later we moved under the warm water together. It was as if his hands had a mind of their own, or maybe they read mine . . . Not a part of my body was left unworshipped as he kissed the water away from my cheeks, my lashes, and my lips. At some point my eyes had fluttered closed in rapture.

As we lingered in the hot, invigorating spray, we didn't do much talking. But when we emerged, we'd discovered a very pleasant new pastime to share, and any residual question as to where my heart and every other part of me would always belong had been washed away.

Hot and steamy that's a great scene

Entrancing! I was absorbed into the post from the first bit to the last.

I found Nyota and Sarek's conversation perfect. Just the right touch of Vulcan-ness with just a hint of his tenderness shining through. His love for his wife and his son.

Spock and Spock's conversation answered a lot of questions I had about Origonal Spock and Nyota. After all if Spock persued her she definately would not have ended up with Sulu like she did in the origonal.

The morning scene was beautiful and I loved that they danced in the rain.

I am am now going to melt.

Kelly ? Hi!!! Thanks ? I am so glad the Sarek/Nyota convo held that lovely blend you spoke of ? it?s a hard one to get, but it?s sweet when you get it just right ? that?s what makes Vulcans so endearing IMHO ? there?s so much depth of emotion and it permeates everything in such subtle yummy ways LOL Yuppers, if Spock had pursued her in Timeline A ? no one would have stood a chance ? blinded by his halo as it were *has raptures over Beyonce?s song, which is theirs BTW* [face_dancing] I too loved the morning scene and the scene on the balcony in the rain ? very nice ? I think the mind touch has got to be one of the most romantic things ever!!

    Entry #18

Being apart for protracted periods - thankfully - has not occurred often. One instance in particular was harrowing for both of us, emotionally and otherwise.

    * * *

After just completing a three month study of the previously dead Thander dialects ? all ten of them, I received a request by the Moscow Linguistics Division of Starfleet to share my findings with Professor Cummings and his aides.

The attention of the galaxy renowned professor was a high honor, one sought by the very best in Xenolinguistics far and wide ? and not only by those in Starfleet.

Through our bond, Spock felt my glee and pride at the announcement, and he was gratified in my behalf.

He found me doing a little twirling dance when he entered our quarters.

I ran and embraced him. He held me tightly in return.

"This is a once in a lifetime opportunity." I remarked. "But I will miss you!"

Spock answered quietly: "The two weeks apart will be unpleasant, but I believe they should be tolerable."

I sighed ruefully and pointed out: "I do have to accept, you know."

"Yes." He agreed, "They will benefit immeasurably from your skills."

Our eyes held warmly, and our embrace tightened.

We both knew such things, but dealing with the reality, what would that be like?

    * * *

We said our goodbyes at Starbase 56 in order for me to switch to the long distance transportation they had arranged.

He lightly held my hand in his as he wished me a fond farewell.

My love and excitement mingled together, and I felt it cutting through the bitter unrest we felt at our parting.

Jim hugged me in a most brotherly fashion.
?You do realize that this guy is going to be a complete puppy without you? Hurry back so I can have my crew back at top efficiency, you hear??

    I laughed as Spock stiffened.

?I can assure you that the Lieutenant's absence will have no bearing on my performance, Captain.?

Kirk shrugged and shook his head. ?Of course, number one. Of course.?

    I smirked at their banter.

Love and adoration passed between Spock and I in one final mental caress, and then I was engulfed in rings of gold.

Our connection was diminished across the great distance, but it still thrived.

When I arrived and met Dr. Cummings and his aide, Iva Regan, my anticipation and pleasure flowed back to him.

They were quite amiable and welcoming and the lovely suite they'd booked for me boasted a large bed and gorgeous appointments in the bathing area.

My mind brushed against his in a soft good-night from across the stars, but even with that, I found I missed his warmth and closeness and slept only fitfully.

    * * *

I spent an invigorating three days collating my findings with those of Dr. Cummings and various archaeological and cultural specialists.

Or, you know... his science officer. (So, so utterly Kirk.)

Conrad struggled with the new language, even going as far to mistranslate the word ?greetings? with ?spear fishing.?

If that weren't a matter of galactic political importance, it'd be hilarious... does explain the mishap of a mission, though...

?I take it you missed me?? I asked, eyes dancing mischievously.

?No more than was reasonable, to be sure,? he responded.

His answering kiss was a searing thing that took and gave from a deep need. He was almost rough as he tangled a hand at the base of my head, tilting my face up to meet him more deeply. His other hand circled my back, pressing the length of our bodies together.

    ______

A/N: Majar III appeared in Mira's As You Love our Pride and Joy -- aka meeting the prospective in-laws [face_laugh] ;)

    Entry #19

A shore leave on Majar III brought about a very happy reunion with my folks. Naturally, Mother insisted on dinner and the opera.

"Bring your gentleman friend along." She had suggested, quite strongly.

My darling love acquiesced when I mentioned it, but I could tell he was feeling quite a lot of trepidation over how things would go.

After the evening went more splendidly than even I could have imagined or hoped, I couldn't wait to fill Yolette in on everything!!

"Mother and Spock shared interests in common, like xenobotany and astrophysics. Mother was a science major early in her University career and has always kept those avocations. My father and Spock share a deep appreciation for the musical arts. Father plays the violin excelently, by the way." I grinned. "They even knew Amanda and Sarek and shared some entertaining times during diplomatic conferences."

Yolette grinned. "I bet it was great seeing your folks again after so long a time!"

I agreed happily: "It really was. And the opera was fantastic ... Eugene Onegin."

"And I bet you looked very elegant in that evening gown you showed me," Yolette remarked. "And those gems in your hair, as well as the dress."

I smiled softly as I recollected how Mother had noticed Spock's admiring glances. I know that my parents had been impressed by his solicitude during the meal and our frequent, warmly affectionate, proud glances.

"So I take it they approved?" Yolette asked.

"Definitely." I replied. "And after we got back to our suite ..."

    "Yes?" She prompted.

"Oh, let me tell you that was the very best part of the evening."

    * * *

With my arm looped through his, we walked slowly back to the suite that we had booked for the evening. Outside the Majarian sky was heavy with stars, and our room glowed with a natural light before I commanded the computers to softly illuminate the room. At my further command, music filled the chamber, low and soothing around us.
As Spock recognized the playlist ? an assembling of jazz and classical pieces that were our particular favorites, affection rippled across our connection from him to me.

He looked over to where I had paused by the vanity mirror. Deftly, I flicked the pins from my hair and let the now curling masses flutter free about my shoulders. The sparkling stones within the tresses glittered as they fell to the floor.

I delicately plucked the opera gloves from one arm and then the next.

He watched my natural grace with unblinking eyes.

?I wanted to thank-you for everything you did this evening,? I was saying sincerely. ?My father is not an easy one to win over at times - and he is an astute judge of character. And my mother; well ... she?s sweet, but if you get on her bad side, watch it!? My eyes twinkled as I laughed lightly.

I reached up to undo the zipper of my evening gown, and after fumbling with it awkwardly for a moment I walked over to him. I lifted my hair out of the way in a silent request.

?And just what did you say to my mother?? I inquired as he unzipped me. ?She was grinning ear to ear ? and if I didn't know her any better, I'd say she was close to tears. She had on her end-of-a-Jane-Austen-novel face.?

    ?Did she?? he inquired.

    ?Yes, she did,? I confirmed.

He said nothing but instead followed me as I entered the large bathroom that was adjacent to our sleeping and dining chambers. I had requested a spa styled tub on a whim earlier, and he hadn't been one to deny the wish.

I set the water on before tossing in a small globe that bloomed into a layer of frothy bubbles over the surface of the water.

I still continued to talk, aware of his burning ardor through our bond. It struck an answering cho
