When friends asked me what I see in Spock, I would say: ?Everything I could ever want or need.? They think he?s distant and would never give a lady the emotional strokes she needs?and would raise their skeptical eyebrows: ?He doesn?t even think of you in that way.? I would always laugh and say: ?He?s not blind or dead yet.?

I would then put on my dangly silver hoop earrings, my coolest bling and hottest outfit, and my anklet and sway my hips as I passed him in the hall. He pretended that his eyes didn?t follow my every move.

It was very hard to concentrate on the logistics of anything he was saying I got so lost in those eyes and that voice? I just could wrap myself in it like a blanket, or like the sun after a cold long winter. We shared scientific and other interests, music being one of the strongest, writing, performing and listening. That gave us the reason for ?coincidental? meetings that gradually became quite openly intended.

Our first embrace? our first kiss? don?t let anyone spin you a tale of cold dispassion. Let me tell you, my toes curled and my world rocked! I never had a doubt, never had a qualm. This was right. This was always. Anyone who said differently was a fool. And wrong besides. I felt cherished and nourished in a way I could never have imagined. I basked in the wonder and delight of it all. I gave as good as I got, because it wasn?t long before he asked for the privilege of bonding. Did I have to think about it? For less than a second. In the sweetest sense of the word, a very ?logical? mutual choice.
