Title: No Longer Alone

A/N: In the style of leapylion3's fun Falcon Flight, alternating first person POV's.

Jim

Audrey was a colleague first, brilliant and lovely and a little intimidating.

Then she became a trusted friend, someone I could count on in a tight spot.

I cannot say when I realized I was in love with her -- it seemed like I woke up one morning and -- I just was. That's how natural it was.

Even when we clash, our rightness for each other never is something I doubt or ponder.

I always knew I would never have a shortfall of friends -- but a (for lack of a more perfect word) soulmate ... that was something I didn't dare think of.

When I grew up without a father, part of me felt adrift, somehow.

Now, as the deepest part of me is bound to Audrey, I'm no longer alone.

A more infuriating person than Jim I doubt I've ever known!

But at the same time, he is the most fun-loving, romantic, and courageous person as well.

There's a reason his crew would follow him to the gates of Mordor and back again -- and it wasn't long before I discovered that I would, as well.

I was chary of giving my heart to him at first, I must confess. But once I got past all the hype and rumor, I discovered he was warm and caring and capable of a strong commitment.

When I lost my dad, it was something that tore a hole in my heart that I thought nothing would be able to fill.

And even though there are times when that loss is a deep ache, I feel -- whole in a way I never expected or dreamed.

Bonded heart, mind, and soul to Jim, I am very happy to say I am no longer alone.

Oh yes Audrey, every day you go between wanting to kill him and kiss him!

Everything is so true here. I loved the alternating first person POV's!

I love it when you showcase one of my favorite couples!
