Well somebody's days on The Walking Dead are numbered.

 

But Walking Dead also films in Atlanta for several months out of the year.

 

Well, I guess we know who dies in the Season finale of Walking Dead. Gal can do determined, that is important in a Trek lead. But Walking Dead isn't exactly an actor-ly showcase. She doesn't seem like a bad actress by any stretch and is certainly better than most of the WD cast.

Frankly, the most important part of a Trek audition should be if they can play their Evil Mirror-Verse self. Yes, I know TNG and VOY didn't go to the mirror-verse but they did enough Evil Counterpart eps on both of those shows it's kind of the same thing.

This is truly a golden age of online subscription entertainment. There are so many exciting things happening on Netflix/Amazon, etc. now. Even Apple is getting into the original programming act.

But this isn't one of those exciting things. Star Trek news is perpetually self-anachronisticizing. It's old news even before anyone knows what it is.

 

This show is probably going to be a disaster. Production delays, showrunner departure, very little promotion, and a streaming platform no one wants. Maybe we should ask soon-to-be President Trump to intimidate-tweet CBS.

 

Now they don't even know when it's going to be released? Brilliant CBS....brilliant.

 

James Frain has been a baddie on more than a few shows and while Sarek isn't exactly a "baddie" he has done emotionally cold when playing baddies so that works, I dig whenever he does something. As for pushing back the date again, it is odd they bounce Fuller because "we don't want to delay it again!" And then a few months later they delay it again.

The show is going to air, eventually, and I'd say maybe September (so CBS has a September sweeps premiere).

 

It'd be a tad weird if "we promoted these guys to showrunners!" and then "Wait, nevermind." and put Fuller back in.

Westworld came out over 2 years after it was initially announced and they flat-out shut down production halfway through to rework the finale. It turned out pretty darn great.

 

I hope it's the last delay.
