Andorian? Hope so! I liked them even before Enterprise made them semi-regulars.

 

Yeah, it's a shame Andorians never appeared on TNG (except that one time), DS9, and Voyager because Rick Berman thought they looked so cheesy. I read one reason they appeared on Enterprise, besides the whole prequel aspect of the show, was because make-up technology had advanced to the point to where they could do movable antennae without it being cumbersome for the actors to wear.

 

Total speculation time: if Fuller is twittering out an Andorian antennae that means an Andorian is a member of the crew. Yay! I mean, why would he twitter out a photo of some random background Andorian antennae? Clearly the Discovery has an Andorian helmsperson, horray! .... okay, maybe not. But I'm calling an Andorian is a bridge crew member, dammit.

 

Has anybody else read Last Unicorn Games' RPG supplement, Among the Clans? That's my favorite take on Andorians, and it influenced the Enterprise writers in many ways. It's also the best game supplement book I've ever read.

 

I liked the Andorians in ENT, so I'm all for it if an Andorian is a helmsperson on the bridge.

 

Really? I'll have to go back and read it - I have a lot of the LUG Star Trek books.

Poor LUG. You were the Fantasy Flight Games of your time.

 

I hope they bring Ron Jones back. His work for tng in the seasons 1 - 3 was awesome!

 

I just hope for a modern & entertaining Star Trek show. And I can't wait for some news.

I'm waiting for them to get to stuff we hadn't already strongly suspected based on rumor.

 

There seems to be a surprising lack of detail-- e.g., casting-- for a show that's supposed to be starting in January.

 

The fact that they say that CBS All Access will still have commercials, even reduced 25%, is a turn off. Paying for a service and still have commercials is the entire reason I dumped Hulu years ago.
