Ryker at last becomes a captain so Picard now has a new First Officer. The last line of the flick is: (paraphrased)

Picard: We are going to the "whatitsface" Nebula, Number 1. You will like it there. It's a place......where no one has gone before.

In true nerd style, I get goosbumps just typing it. I will be weeping like a little girl when I see that scene!

Anyone know what the theme tune goes like?

That's something that Quantum Leap had that was better than trek, although, when I was 9 I heard the full orchestral soundtrack to Star Trek played by a full orchestra, first the original series, then Voyager, DS9 then a final Next Gen theme tune, I could have cried. In fact I did. It was beautiful.

 

Its a song. With lyrics. Meant to have been a laughing stock in the states.

 

But it does work.

Still - expect a bundle of jokes about it.

Precredits - hmmm. interesting. Klingons in the past look like klingons from the next gen era - which goes against what was said in "Trials and Tribble-ations". Oh well - that's ST continuity for ya

Well i gotta admit that was the best ST opener in the last couple of years a lot better imho than Voyager and DS9.

I used to watch ST but after TNG i got bored i will be watching this one though

 

Got the tv! hurrah! mum did moan and groan though, but she needed to use the phone so that shut her up!

i thought it was good! better than i expected it to be. i hope a strong storyline is gonna develop ala ds9, therefore giving the show a bit of body. theme tune was truly hideous though, and that bit where cochrane did that speech about the engine was toe-curlingly contrived! but apart from that a thumbs-up from the wallace! let's hope it continues.

 

woulda been better if James Cromwell played Cochrane though

Lots of plot holes in that (How did the Enterprise survive going right next to that starbase looking thing when they were almost destroyed the last time)

I hated that vulcan woman too

I assume we'll be seeing more of the Suliban though. I wonder from what point in time they're attempting to change the past...

 

Hey Halibut, it was James Cromwell as Cochrane, he'd just been aged a bit as this is set sometime after First Contact.

Not sure that the future guy was a Suliban either. Reckon he's something else entirely (Romulan maybe?)

 

I watched Enterprise last night... and I was rather impressed. I'm gonna watch it again.

i thought it was alright, apart from the title music
