Star Trek XI

Actually this kind of idea was brought about in 1989 with Star Trek: The First Adventure which can be read HERE so its not technically the 'Star Wars thing', anyway I think it will be following the Casino Royal thing because not everyone actually liked the SW prequels such as The Phantom Menace TBH

 

Actually Kirk had dark blonde hair in the original series. He only had brown hair in the movies.

Although he was wearing a wig in the movies, its a lot more difficult to say if he was wearing one in the original series though?

 

Id go with this being more of a casino royale type film. Like batman begins aswell, this is going to be more of a restart to the franchise, as lets be honest, treks been on its arse for quite a few years now (technical term lol)

Hopefully this will be as good as CR and BB and really get the magic back into trek.

Not been good since DS9 finished.

 

I dunno, I liked Nemesis and Season 3 and 4 of Enterprise were really good as well.

 

Yea nemesis was ok, but that was TNG crew. Thats what I meant really, things like voyager and enterprise didnt work for me. Thye had their moments and story arcs but overall they cant hold a candle to everything pre-DS9 ending*


*And that excludes star trek 5, season 1 of ds9 and any episodes based around dianna troi 'getting a headache' lol

 

im just saying that star wars started off a prequel phase for movies!!

also i thought nemesis was the worse star trek they every did....i mean what use is a super weapon in battle if it takes over 30mins to start up lol

 

They'd probably just fire it when cloaked.


And there's no way it's worse than Final Frontier or Insurrection. It's impossible for a Star Trek film to be worse than those.

 

The theylaron weapon isnt supposed to be used in battle. It kills everything in a...iv forgotten now, radius lol. Its supposed to be used on planets and such, not in a battle situation.

Plus, the scimitar has plenty of weapons to take on other ships. You can see in the film it dosnt need a super weapon to beat the best of starfleet. Hell it was only dianna that stopped them (her and her headaches again lol)

And yea, nothing is worse than 5 and 9, they suck soooooo bad. If you can find a way to, edit the alternate ending to nemesis into the film, it makes it so much better and a very worthy ending to the TNG family.

 

I disagree

Nemesis was just a complete average story involving Romulans and thats it.
Considering the fact the Romulans were involve way back in the original series.
I was expecting esponaige, thriller, plot-twist like in the Pale moonlight
and the involvemnet of Section 31.

It was bland because paramount wanted to reep up all the money afterall.

 

Enterprise vs Scimitar = Awesomeness though.

It was a ok game but it wasn't as good as I hoped, Star Trek Bridge Commander was better

 

I've been trying to find a copy of Bridge Commander for years but it's either stupidly expensive or not there. I eventually downloaded it, but there's no way of modding it.

If there was a Star Trek computer game I would play it would involve the role playing game.

Woah woah woah...Prometheus...ACCEPTABLE!? What the frack?

The Prometheus makes Voyager look like a three wheeler.

People have talked about a reboot or a new start for Trek - JJ and co have been qutie clear that they are not doing that, they are writing a story that will 'fit in' with Star Trek canon.

Also - Insurrection, a lot of people give that movie a bad time - it's a bad movie, but actually it's not a bad episode of TNG. Same i think about Nememsis - which had so much potential but i think that it failed mainly because they could have done so much more with the story...not mention left some of the cut scenes in.

I'm looking forward to Star Trek, i think Zach Quinto is a fantastic bit of casting, and I look forward to seeing who they eventually roll out for Kirk - bearing in mind they're going to be looking for someone who's less than 30 - Shatner didn't look old in TOS - which I think is why Damon is a no go - though i'm very much of the belief he could be a good Kirk. This also puts Robbie (wth?) and Kiefer (again, wth?) out of the equation!

It's set 20 years after Nemesis and has a new Enterprise, new Uniforms and its like the World of Warcraft

I just don't see how ST: Online works - unless it goes all out and just says "Right, this is a Roleplaying game, you must join a crew..." then I just don't think it's going to work.

Nice still though...and of course i'll play, just like i played SWG till Lucas killed it!!!

The Prometheus looked OK until it split into 3 pieces. What was all that about? Stupid idea, absolutely stupid.
