LitlleJedi and I saw Star Trek: Nemesis last night. What can I say? I'm glad we have The Two Towers to look forward to. That's all I'll say. I don't want to spoil it for any Trekkies(or is it Trekkers? I want to be PC here.) but I would suggest seeing a matinee or even a twilight show. Don't pay full price for this one. One question. . . When did Janeway get promoted to Admiral? If you know, let me know. I've never seen Voyager but I always thought she was a Captain.
She's promoted when they get home. Actually, in the last episode, Adm. Janeway comes back from the future, speeds their trip home, and kicks Borg butt left and right.
Hopefully not. Trek needs to be bold and do a movie series based totally on characters created for cinema. That would allow them a lot more freedom in development.
With respect to Charles, I thought Nemesis was a fine Star Trek - although I did go see a starlight showing ($4.50). You gots you're multifaceted bad guy (though I grant the supporting bad guy cast was a bit weak) action, humor, 3D starship battle (as they all SHOULD be,) and a director who holds Wrath of Khan to be his favorite of the series. I'd quibble over a few details (space around the Romulan capital should be as busy as Coruscant in Ep. II., some good dialogue seems to have been cut) but a worthy ST, and a worthy even-numbered ST at that.
NEVER go see ST at the theater even the trailer didn't grab me. Only movie worth it is ST:2 and I hope to get that on DVD soon. I'll wait for it to come to the video store and hit the budget rentals.
Your loss Wrath of Khan is still my favorite, but this one is now vying with First Contact for 2nd place.
I think I'm the only one that thinks the original film is the best. Nemesis ranks in my top 5: TMP WOK TUC FC N Now, unscramble those and make as many words as you can.
Second place I think would have to go to Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country. I liked the first movie for only one reason. I though that the plot was original and unexpected. That is also a reason I liked the second movie. To bring in a story that was left open from the TV show was very cool. If you havent seen it rent "Space Seed" I think thats the name. I am also not a big new gen fan. Data will never be Spock. Just how many 60+ year old captians can pick up 20 year old green chicks. Id like to take a light saber to Number 1. Does Whoopie have to be in every B movie or TV show? I dont care how tuff Klingons are if a pressure suit gets ripped open in space your soup. ok ok Ill calm down.
