Dammit, Marvel are going have to be insane not to issue that art in an OHC edition!

 

I want that cover as a poster on my wall. Immonen draws the best Luke; he really captures the youth and spirit on his face.

 

Hope that rancor stays ON the cover and doesn't appear INSIDE the issue, let's keep some film scenes original

As to what it is, I'm guessing it's probably one of these handsome fellows.

lol. this issue was cracking me up with the Chewie/C-3PO's scenes.

 

Chewie/Threepio was the highlight of this issue

Only downside is that on the Sana front were stuck with more "I'm his wife" "NO SHE ISN'T!"

 

Namecheck of the destruction of Jedi Temples apart from the Coruscant one which was converted into the Palace. One of which Luke has already learned about firsthand from the experience recounted in Weapon of a Jedi.

 

This is becoming annoying, indeed. Quit stalling, tell us the truth already!

 

I bet pretty soon people will start speculating that the new "gamemaster" character is actually Darth Maul

 

This storyline is just bland and unnecessary. This is what's going to happen: Leia, Han, and Sana are going to get to Nar Shadaa and assist Chewie and Threepio in saving Luke. Sana and Han will continue their "Husband, dear"/"We're not married!" shtick throughout the whole conflict. At the end of the story, there will be a brief expository scene wherein Han will relate whatever story about him and Sana getting eloped for some heist or something with the reveal that, unbeknownst to Shana, the marriage was a sham in some fashion all along. I feel like Sana wants something more than just Han to be her hubby, but, either way, she will realize that Han is not part of her life anymore and accept in lieu of husband for helping save Luke.

There will be no satisfying conclusion to this subplot.

Saying that, the rest of the issue was really fun. Chewie and Threepio was the highlight. I also enjoyed Luke getting some cursory lightsaber training.

 

Chewbacca was the best in this issue. Really curious about the hutt and his "Jedi trainer" game master. The art is fantastic!

Oh, and the zillo beast juvenile!

 

Marvel are the company that spun the identity of the new Thor out for 8 issues before revealing the answer. Before that they did the same trick with 'Who is Ronin' at least twice. They have form for this sort of stuff.

 

That's what I thought it looked like!

 

It's still fun to read, but it kinda feels a bit meh on the plot front. Like we know Luke is not going to die. I wish they'd focus more on important rebellion stuff, show how the rebellion grows and moves forward.

But what I do like a lot is that Luke gets to saber train and he'll probably get access to the holocrones. That could explain how he got to grow so powerful in what is a short timespan compared to the prequels.

Just checked the panel again, but it seems I was wrong. It's not a zillo beast actually (the lower jaw crest/flap and hands are different). It may be a brezak though

No tusk on the Brezak though, also if it were a mounted beast, I very much doubt the "Jedi trainer" would have such a reaction to it.

As for the Gungan, was that Jar Jar? Please let it be Jar Jar, and let him have his eye plucked out at some point. Nothing would satisfy me more than knowing he'd been through his share of suffering and degraded to nothing but the owner of a dive bar on Nar Shaddaa.

 

I'm guessing just another Gungan.

 

I really like the costume that Immonen designed for Leia. Probably my favorite one.
