Okay... T-minus 7 days and counting...
Is there a preview yet?
Expect the preview Friday morning, that's when we usually get them.
I'd love a large poster version of the cover of #50.
Heh, reminds me of this:
Really? I usually see them up by Thursday afternoon.
I don't think this has been posted here yet. Apparently Giuseppe Camuncoli (artist of Darth Vader: Dark Lord of the Sith) will also be contributing artwork to Star Wars #50! I'm guessing he may be doing a backup story, or maybe just taking over part of the regular story, since the issue is oversized. This news has got me more excited for this issue!
They are usually posted on Thursdays, yes.
Star Wars #50 preview.
LOVE IT. No reference to the Mid Rim campaign, but time will tell...
For you ship counters, we see 14 Mon Cala cruisers, two more than at the end of the last issue. None of the MC80A Home One-types appear to be present...
That's a beautiful fleet! I hope we see it in action beyond this issue. I want the mid rim campaign to be a response to Vader's attack on this base. I absolutely love Mon Cala designs.
My guess is that this is concurrent with the Mid Rim Campaign...
There's a good chance you're right, but im hoping as long as we don't know for sure
I think you're all missing the most important part...
One of the ships is commanded by the criminally overlooked General Vanden Willard!
I've gotta say, the art in that preview looks a heck of a lot better than what's come before! To me, there are no standout bad panels, which is a step up because even the previews usually have at least one. There's still some tracing, but it's at least a little bit less obvious.
I'm not expecting the Mid Rim campaign to be mentioned... but I am definitely thinking of multiple easy ways we can tie the loss of Mako Ta (which is certain) and the scattering of the Rebel Fleet (also certain, we know that part of the fleet has to escape) to the losses in the Mid Rim. It's not hard to do so, but I'd still die of delight if it was mentioned somehow.
So, who's in that establishing shot of the party? I see General Draven off to the right.
Great Rebel diversity, by the way. (sarcasm) Look at all those white humans!
Yeah, I hope we see more diversity. Larocca's art may not be my cup of tea, but I admired his attempts to show the Alliance very diverse. Men & women of all colors, plus a myriad of alien species.
The art in the mainline series has been on an uptick for a few months now. The "scanned faces" thing was abandoned early in the Mon Cala arc, and Larocca has been slowly making his way back to form ever since. It's been good to see.
Where's our man Cracken? Why doesn't he ever show up? I don't want Draven, he's a mean jerk.
Cracken's probably actually working, unlike Draven who's just hanging out at the party.
Just noticed another character at the party. In the panel where Leia mentions not going on Willard's ship, that's definitely "Unidentified bearded Rebel commando."
Oh, this sounds encouraging for a potential OHC4/5 buy.
So based on the preview, I believe this thread needs a title change from Burns to Dies. @AdmiralNick22 @The2ndQuest
I always wondered about the thread title because the arc was called "Hope Dies" since it was first announced in April. Where did "Hope Burns" come from?

It looks like it came from this site: https://jedi-bibliothek.de/2018/03/marvel-sammelbaende-legends-lando-mehr/
The seas were burning last arc, so maybe someone wanted hope to burn as well, and hopefully not when they pee.
Maybe someone foresaw Germany's 2018 World Cup future?
Certainly not for Mexico!
