Hear that, Coop? You can pull that Little Mermaid trick on Revanfan, here, instead.

It it makes you feel better I've seen that movie fifty times and I don't know what he's talking about either.

It's when you trick an attractive man into thinking you're human instead a mermaid.

Happens all the time, surprised you guys haven't heard of it.

Finished readying A New Dawn a few days ago and I can safely say that while I like some of it lacking. Oddly I can't tell you why I found it lacking just that I did. Not sure if it was how Mr. Miller presented the characters, the situations or if I was just hoping something else. I definitely didn't feel like I wasted money on the book; I will never say that about A New Dawn. I KNOW what it feels like to read a book and feel like I wasted ten-to-twenty dollars on it.

I just finished reading A New Dawn and, while it is definitely an enjoyable read, like Lady_Misty I found it somewhat lacking.

The good: the villain. I like good villains and Vidian is definitely a good villain, clever and scheming, with a balance of innate evil and motivations linked to his personal history. I found that the economic aspects of an authoritarian regime were an interesting theme to include (it's also an interesting sign of the times we live in; ten years ago there was this recurring theme that mildly authoritarian regimes are actually good for the people, and that drove me crazy) and the touch of corruption and backstabbing was a nice bonus.

The bad: the warrior woman. The female protagonist is - again! - a warrior woman, like every female protagonist in SW, and I'm fed up with the idea that all strong female protagonists have to be warrior women. Not only does it become repetitive after a while, but it also leads to non-warrior-woman characters being underdeveloped and being used as plot devices. I found that Zaluna, in particular, was a really interesting character and could have easily played a more proactive role in the story.

All in all, it was still a pleasant book to read and the beginning of a good story. On to Rebels now :)

Turbolift was used in a recent episode of Rebels, and I believe it only went up and down.

I'm starting A New Dawn tonight and I'll post updates as I read. So far I really like Kanan's backstory especially seeing him as an anxious little ADD padawan that is actually pretty perceptive despite his lack of conviction, which only adds to his believability. He's really starting to grow on me and I can't wait to go on further adventures with him over the next few years. So far the book is adding some weight to Rebels which is what I was really hoping for.

Or maybe they're just terms for the same thing like coffee, java, joe, etc.

Pre-ordered in paperback from Book Depository, bargain price for under $12 AUD. It's released March 31st, so it should arrive around the start of April. I'll post my thoughts once I start reading it.
