Ok, first let me say that while I enjoyed TPM I really enjoyed AOTC. For those who rank AOTC above TPM let us see how much better AOTC was over TPM by comparing EpIII,AOTC, and TPM.


Examples:

If Episode III is to AOTC as AOTC is to TPM, then Episode III will rank ABOVE ESB(1st).

If Episode III is to AOTC as AOTC is to TPM, then Episode III will rank below ESB but above ROTJ(2nd).

If Episode III is to AOTC as AOTC is to TPM, then Episode III would still rank below the OT.

If Episode III is to AOTC as AOTC is to TPM, then Episode III will rank ABOVE ANH(3rd) but below ROTJ(2nd).

Heh. I have a similar equation going, actually, based on my numerical grades given to each movie.

If Episode III > ANH, PT > OT
If Episode III = ANH, PT = OT
If Episode III < ANH, PT < OT

The number grades just worked out that perfectly.

Well here is my quick analogy of it all.

Assuming that Episode III > ESB(best is my book)

It remains OT > PT.

Due to
ANH > (TPM + AOTC)

and

RoTJ > (TPM + AOTC)

 

Uhh...I'm going to take a guess here...is the answer 42?

if (Episode III == ANH)
PT = OT;
else (Episode III > ANH)
PT > OT;
else (Episose III < ANH)
PT < OT;

 

If E3 > ESB, PT > OT.

If E3 < ESB, PT < OT.

 

After consultation with several learned colleagues, we have derived the following formula to determine just about everything...

If PT>OT, then X = 3.
If PT<OT, then X = 2.

Assuming ESB+AOTC = C and (ANH+ROTJ)-TPM = D, then we can deduce that 2C - 3D < 2+X. This value will be assumed as P.

Thus, C-3P0 + R2-D2 is an infinite number.

the OT has a better feel to it but i still like AOTC best out of all the films. it just has everything that a movie needs.

well this thread did have a point, but we got off topic... lets try to get back on topic.


I would say the following.

On a scale of 1 - 10 Star Wars movies always rank at an 11. But since we are compairing SW to SW movies, then we will go by a real 1-10 scale.

ANH (8) ESB (8) and ROTJ (9) = 25
TPM (6) AOTC (9) = 15
Therefore, Episode III needs to be PERFECT for the PT to be better than the OT. Do i think Lucas can pull it off... no. Not if he's directing and relies on CG for battle sequences.

Unfortinaly That is too true, to get a 10/10 makes mission imposible look like Jar Jar vs Luke and WINNING!

But if Gerge Lucas Dose pull it off it would be like totaly cool. But don't get your hopes too high beacuse chances are that they will just be slamed down like ep 1

I at first thought that ep 1 rocked but back then I had not seen ep 4, 5, and 6 then I got 4, 5, and 6 in the rocking digitaly remasted version. They Kicked ep 1's A$$ so VERY hard that it was realy quite sad. I canot beleve my parents brought me up thinking that a ep 1 move was GOOD!

I didn't go to the movies for ep 2 not wanting the get dissapointed by the total (but not as much) hype that suroured it, But i got a PS2 and wanting a good dvd to test out on it i went and got a cheap 15$ copy of AOTC, It Was Realy good, ep 1 and 2 make a 7/10 movie. Still pritty ****** when put into realtation to OT.

Well I share your hopes! but think that it will be totaly **** (eg. Jar Jar Plays the lead roll for the entire movie ). And when it comes out you won't be upset that it didn't live up to your expertations.
